Recently happened upon a nice windfall.
So, I want to buy a book for a friend of mine who'll be making his application to university soon. It'd be nice if it were non-fiction and to do with economics. Philosophy and politics are also acceptable.
If you want to list some awesome books, go for it.
He already owns Wealth of Nations and The General Theory of Employment, Interest and Money.

1 返信How about Francis Fukuyama's The End of History and the Last Man? I haven't read it yet myself, but in it he challenges the Marxist notion that Communism will eventually dethrone Capitalism as the final form of global government, and instead suggests that Western democracy's victory in the Cold War has signaled "the end of history", or the end of dynamic government systems. Thus it is both economic, political, and philosophical, and seems really interesting.
