The girl is only 5 years old and she is the wrong gender. Most people wait until they are adults before they decide to make a change. Now, I don't know if the little girl feels like she should have been born a boy or would more comfortable as a boy.
I know some people here (I won't name names) think that people like this are crazy, or disturbed mentally. Is this girl crazy?
And one of the comments said “How can one determine the psychological gender of a child before they reach puberty? This child’s parents should be charged with child abuse!,” said one comment.
What do you make of the comment and of the story?

1 返信Remember the days when something would ask you your gender and there were only two options?

3 通の返信There is no doubt a mental issue with these things to an extent. A girl thinks she's the wrong gender? Is it because she enjoys doing 'boy' things like playing army, sports, etc? Is it because she prefers her hair short? Is it because she likes other girls? Is it because she wants a penis and to dress and act like a guy? Right there is where you get to the mental aspect. There is nothing normal about that. We supposedly have mental institutions to help child molesters, schizophrenics, etc. We have drugs to help people with autism, anger management, etc. When someone convinces themselves that they "feel" like being the opposite sex, however, and want to butcher their genitalia and pretend to be the opposite sex, we all have to play along so we don't hurt their feelings. That's bullshit. There is a blatantly clear mental problem there. They should be treated and helped. There gets to be a point that I draw the line and that's it for me.

asirにより編集済み: 6/3/2014 10:25:10 PMWhy are people angry about this? It's not like they're pumping a 5 year-old full of hormones and doing an SRS. I can't see any possible reason for controversy that doesn't end in a circular argument like "girls are supposed to be girls because that's how they're born!"

2 通の返信or heres a thought, shes 5 and has no idea whats shes talking about. what happens if she reaches the age of 10 and suddenly concludes that she made a really stupid -blam!-ing choice at the age of 5? children just dont have the mental capacity to fully understand what they're saying, for all she knows she could just hate playing with dolls and came to the conclusion that since only girls play with dolls and she doesn't like doing that, than she must be a boy?

3 通の返信When I was a little kid, I dressed up in girl clothes and put on nail polish mainly because I just didn't know what I was doing. Fortunately, my parents did not "support" me in becoming a girl. I'm a manly man now and have no intention of being a girl. A child of that age is not capable of knowing who they really are and parents should not be so quick to take hold of a child's possibly temporary fascinations. If the child absolutely insists on being the opposite gender, I think the parents should still encourage them to act according to their sex but shouldn't suppress them if the kid insists.

2 通の返信But... she's 5? How does she even know what she wants? You know the last five year old girl I saw? She was throwing a tantrum in a grocery store because she didn't get any candy.

3 通の返信Good for the parents. Raising a child to be a certain way is idiotic. The child knows who they are, nobody else can decide that for them.

3 通の返信Ummmmm little kids do stuff like this all the time. It really is far too early to tell and I would not be surprised if this does more harm then good. How can the girls mind be in the wrong body if neither are even developed? :/

1 返信When I was 5 I thought I was a cowboy, because that was the cool thing to be at the time. I'm not a cowboy.

1 返信Let them be a boy, dress like one and be called one and all that. But anything further at this point would be just plain stupid. Give them a few years to see if that is really how they feel and not just the way they think now. Little kids aren't exactly known for consistency of thought. It's good that the parents are supportive either way though, and not some moronic troglodytes who think that it means the devil is in their daughter and they have to beat the demon out of them or treat them like a freak for being different.

2 通の返信Gender cognition doesn't begin until around 7-8 years old. She should seriously wait until puberty before she says she's serious about this.
