Is destiny the first and last shared world shooter. ? Most developers are making mmos. So is destiny the first and last sws
And I am talking about destiny as in the franchise. Not just one game.
the division is a online RPG
11 通の返信There are supposed to be three and possibly four Destiny games in the next ten years. So Destiny is not the last shared world shooter, but it is the first. Once Destiny gets popular, I'm sure other developers will want to copy it unfortunately...

"Because Destiny is the only shared world shooter being made now, it will be the only one ever made by humans in our many eons of existence." The level of stupidity coming from this post is beyond my comprehension. I'm feeling physical pain right now. I'm pretty sure OP's argument is that nobody except Bungie is working on a shared world shooter. I have a few things to say about that. There was a time in the 19th century when nobody except the Confederacy had a steel-clad warship. Guess what? Now, all warships are steel-clad. In 1945, nobody except the US had any nuclear weapons. Guess what? Now, every first world nation has their own nuclear stockpile. In 1969, nobody except Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin had stood on the moon. Guess what? A few dozen people have stood on the moon since then. My point: just because only one group has something doesn't mean that other groups can't acquire it. The shared-world shooter will be no different.

7 通の返信Destiny is doing well in pre-orders and I'm sure it will sell well enough for some developers to make their own sws.

24 通の返信Jaegerにより編集済み: 5/30/2014 6:33:09 PMIt's really just a title anyone could slap on a game even an mmo because technically you all share the same play space just not in the same way as destiny.
and the division is basically doing the same thing as destiny in third person sooooo
2 通の返信DEZARATHにより編集済み: 5/30/2014 4:33:04 PMDepending on its success you'll see similar titles or mechanics down the road. Even now there are comparisons to Borderlands and Destiny. Even Defiance shared that vein of assumption. I could easily see Mass Effect and Halo adopting characteristics of Destiny. One could also say Destiny displays the same of those titles as well. Like any popular video game or movie if it displays and defines the success to overwhelming proportions, then it will shape new games to come.
