The flood: they are a form of precursors. Which also makes them gods.
They have keymimnds which are stronger than anything. They can take over A.I. etc.
If the flood get any precursor tech tht hive are doomed. Only because they are the precursors.
The hive are just space zombies. They are just a virus.

6 通の返信Azhidalにより編集済み: 5/25/2014 3:55:16 AMGotta give it to the hive on this one, the hive are essentially space zombies, this does not mean that is all they are. like the flood they are capable of intelligence. but unlike the flood(as far as we know) they are capable of independent thought. on top of this rather than precursor tech they have the power of The Darkness, an as of yet unknown entity of great power on level with or even above judging by the current state of things, the traveler. who in destiny lore is essentially a forerunner, who beat the precursors back when they were in their near god-like state. meaning that for the darkness the hive are essentially sentient foot soldiers to the darkness in much the same way the lesser flood serve the Gravemind. This being said both of these deadly enemies are more a less the same, however the flood are like a really de-volved and stripped down version of what the precursors were. while they may be descended from precursors they lack the knowledge of how to construct or even use precursor tech even if they found it, as all flood knowledge is gained through experience or the consumption of life. and as there are no more living precursors that hold the knowledge of how to use or create this advanced technology(that we know of, halo 5-6 may change that but till then...), the god-like abilities you attribute to the flood are void. Also the flood are a virus as well the hive mind integration of the FSC(Flood Super Cell) as an individual to every other FSC and the fact that it corrupts and converts the infected genetic code over to its own contributes to this. The hive on the other hand have not been confirmed to function this way yet so saying the hive are a virus would be an un-founded speculation.

7 通の返信Shadowにより編集済み: 5/25/2014 5:41:20 PMSomebody please explain to me 1. WTF is a prefcursors 2. WTF is a star road 3. When did the flood get. Reality warping abilities? Ive played every halo game and aint nevah heard of these although i never actually looked muhch into the flood and forerunner lore i just wanted to pop grunt heads toss grenades and -blam!- shit up

1 返信This is so one sided it's not even funny. The Flood using a single Precursor Star Road would destroy The Hive without any level of difficulty.

2 通の返信Flood had rocket launchers and used the enemys they defeated for there ranks. Hive as far as I can see just use their claws and a few other things.

1 返信We don't know the lore of the hive, sure it's unlikely to be something as OP as the Key Minds but you never know, maybe they can leisurely destroy anything they think of with a single thought.

10 通の返信Hive wins. Simply because of the fact that you say the Flood wins. I love the Flood, but yuh know, f*** you ;D Also, you can't pit them against each other when you only know the lore of the Flood. You don't know everything about the Hive; Space-Zombies? You're only scratching the surface there. Wait 'til the game is out and you learn more about them. Then.. you have my permission to die..
I am homosex
37 通の返信That's it. I've seen plenty of speculation, plenty of particularly annoying users, plenty of poorly done versus threads, but you have somehow found a way to piss me off like no one else on this forum. First of all, where do you get off calling the hive a virus, or "Flood 2.0?" They are multicellular beings with brains, muscles, and organs, none of which are found in viruses. Viruses infect hosts, and we have no evidence of the hive doing anything like that. They have their own technology, which the flood don't. They are fast and agile, which most flood forms aren't. Just because the hive were called "space zombies" way back when we knew almost nothing about them does not make it an accurate description. Second, what do you have against the hive? They are just as advanced and just as deadly as the Fallen, Vex, or Cabal. They have their own advanced technology, just like the others. Why all the hate? Why do you try to make them out to be a stupid, simple race when everything we know suggests they are the opposite? Third, you clearly don't have a good idea of how to make a versus thread. You give the advantages and disadvantages of each, and then you state your own opinions. If you state all the reasons why one competitor defeats the other and then shit on the latter, it defeats the purpose of the poll. No one automatically wins a versus poll except WWII Russia and Batman with prep. Fourth, you don't have as good of an understanding of halo lore as you think. The flood were created using precursor DNA, but they themselves are not precursors and have no precursor technology. They only have what their enemies have. Otherwise, they wouldn't need to use Covenant or UNSC weapons. The flood are not gods, they are not invincible, and they are not unbeatable. *Takes deep breath* Ok, I'm done.

1 返信Ghostfire239により編集済み: 5/24/2014 8:55:49 PMI remember asking this question in your Forerunner vs Hive Poll early today lol. Thanks for making a poll of it :) I think that the Flood would win do to the whole being able to infect and take over the bodies of any living organisms. but, then again i have a feeling that the Hive have something more behind them... ahh probably my imagination.

7 通の返信The hive are not a virus. While Bungie has referred to them as space zombies, based on what else they have told us, they are more akin to mummies than zombies. Bungie has said that they are an ancient race that has kept themselves alive using dark magic, hibernating in sarcophagus-like ships. They do not infect people.
