So I'm looking to get into PC gaming and I noticed the pretty good reviews for these laptops. Are these great for gaming? I don't really want to spend over $800 on anything and these are supposedly fairly high end. So tell me which one I should buy or recommend me a different laptop. To my knowledge 8GB of RAM and 1080p are more than decent for gaming. I'm not sure what else to look for in a good gaming laptop but I want smooth frame rates but also want it in 1080p.
Edit: I'd actually prefer a PC to a laptop so it'd be better if you could build me a gaming PC around $800.

Even more bang for your buck right there. EDIT: And if you need any help with a desktop build, please just come to me.

20 通の返信Sorry for saying this but it's too tempting...

laptop
and
gaming
don't go together well
5 通の返信Honestly, most likely not. Though I do want to build a gaming laptop just for the hell of it.

It's the most powerful but it has a 720p screen. Honestly you probably won't care considering the screen size. 1080p vs 720p only really matters when you're either up really close or the screen is big. Edit: I use a GTX 660 in my PC (the aspire has a 760, so it's a newer model and is better), I can max games out in 1080p. BF4 goes down to about 40-ish fps but most other games run at 60. So, at the laptop's 720p, you'll have no issues maxing games out. EDIT AGAIN!: Do what Blaziken said, but I'd still suggest a desktop if at all possible.

Atomic Teaにより編集済み: 2/14/2014 10:44:35 PMI would very much recommend a cooling pad if you wish to prolong the life of your gaming laptop. If you don't use one, you'll struggle to run games for more than an hour after about a year of use. They'll shut themselves off to prevent melting, and you'll find that the laptop generally heats up rather easily and will keep shutting itself off when playing games. You don't really need to worry about that with a tower, as they generally have either A.) better fans/cooling units or B.) more of them.

10 通の返信I'd go with a tower if I were you. You can't really upgrade a laptop beyond adding RAM and swapping out for an SSD, and if you're willing to spend $800, you could get a pretty sweet set up.

5 通の返信I've had the Acer Aspire V3571G for a while now and it's been perfect for me. Well, not quite but as far as laptops for gaming go, this thing has served me well. Skyrim at a decent FPS on High-Ultra, Fallout at a good FPS on Max settings, RTS games with no bother although Total War heats it up quite a lot. If you get a gaming laptop, get a cooling stand, I thought I didn't need one, but the difference with and without is remarkable. Play for longer and at a better quality. Don't expect it to do FPS games well though, especially Battlefield. Save that for consoles and desktops. 8GB RAM, a good Graphics card and a decent processor should set you up well. If you have any questions about laptop gaming, just ask :D

5 通の返信Those will run most games. Though be warned about heating issues. Laptops can get really hot while gaming.
