I want destiny to be as reasonably realistic as possible. One of the things that would make it somewhat realistic is to get rid of instant respawning. Players should feel like staying alive is worth it, they should be forced to think about their tactics seriously. That's why I think there should be a 24 spawn system.
Basically if you die, you can't respawn for another 24 hours. This would add a lot of depth to the game as it forces people to completely rethink their tactics. It would also be a nice touch if the player loses any rare items they had equipped at the time of death. What do you guys think of this idea?

1 返信Fantastic idea! I would also like to see a 100,000 watt electricity charge to shock me through my controller when I die. That would really make things interesting!
-
While the is no penalty for dying... a long respawn time would suck. Any timed respawn sucks. Usually, in pretty much any game the penalty for dying is losing currency. A % based or set amount per lvl would be the best option if you want death penalties. No item loss, no extra time for dying (except in PvP maybe... if you die more often maybe have very slowly increasing time between respawns for consecutive deaths.)
-
I think they should implement a respawn penalty but not to this extreme. Basically if you die you respawn in the tower instead of on the map with a cost coming out of your glimmer or gear (from the mission, raid, strike you were on not from your current inventory) and have to start the mission over from the beginning unless you're revived on the field in which case you would pay the respawn fee to the player who revived you. That would also give incentive for people to medic more.

1 返信I play because the game is beatable. I all so play to have a great time. This game is SiFi role playing game It is fiction destiny is not a real life simulater.

3 通の返信Some people really are incredibly simple minded hah, some of these comments, my god, he's obviously not serious.
-
2 通の返信Why not ultra-super-perma-death? You can't create another character unless you buy another console, copy of the game and create a new account.
-
1 返信Also loose all the rare items u had on you at the time really you wouldn't be saying this stuff if it happened to you

Well if you're a hardcore gamer I guess but 24 hours is to long I would say 4-5 hours because people want to the most for there money and if its not a game mode a lot of people won't play it for it can get frustrating and that would cut into bungies profits.
-
That is a good idea for a hard core mode but 24 hours seems a bit harsh maybe an hour at most. But I do agree that there isn't any real punishment to death other than in a darkness heavy zone where it's either 30 seconds or wait for your teammates.
-
1 返信I would be pissed off If count play the game for 24 hours on my day off from work cause I got hit by a random spider tank shot. Not a good idea. Now in a raid if you die you have to go to spectator mode until the raid is finished yes but not in open world or strike missions
-
No one would play crucible because on a 6 man team you would have a 50%-90% chance of dying and then you'd have to wait a full day to hop back on and die again. Those bounties would be worthless because it would take you weeks to complete them. Also, if you were to die on a high level story mission at the very last part, you would have to start all over again from the beginning. It would be repetitive and boring. Bungie wants to MAKE money when Destiny comes out, and I'm sure there are many people who would never buy this game if it had such a ridiculous penalty for dying. I certainly wouldn't.
-
1 返信Spawning after 24 hours?? Dude don't be a coward! It should be, If you die you lose your entire character and you gotta start all over from the beginning! Now that's a mans game!
-
Why the hell would I buy a game that I can't play for another 24hrs? Are you serious? Accidents happen and I am sure you would throw your controller if you died because someone trained a group of mobs past your dumb self. That is the worst idea I've ever heard. I am sure games that are successful are the ones that don't allow you to play them. Ugh.
-
"Lol, you tried to explore and got killed by an invisible forcefield. You can't play the game for the rest of the day." Please lobby for this, obviously the game would be SOOO much better when 99% of the population trades the game back in. If you like the idea of 'perma-death' go play Diablo 3 on Hardcore mode. If you die, that character is dead, no re-spawning, all items gone.
