I HAD TO RE-UPLOAD THE VIDEO. YouTubes processing was really bogged down last night.
This video was just me venting. I made lots of friends on YouTube and seeing them going through this is painful.
Here is a list of Publishers and Developers that support the content being produced on YouTube.

All the major YouTubers should just make an agreement to only post on Dailymotion from now on. What would YouTube do then? Lol.

I don't see the issue really since you didn't make the content that you are playing and/or reviewing so the companies can do what they want. Now you can argue fair use, but when a website makes the rules and there aren't any laws that prevent them from putting certain rules in place then there is little you can do to stop them.

I think Let's Play videos are good for the gaming industry overall, and it seems like Google is trying to head off any major lawsuits that may come their way in the future. I can't help but be a little cynical towards people who use YouTube as their main (or primary!) source of income; they really should be aware of their situation. If I understand correctly, you can continue to post the videos if you don't monetize. That keeps the people who are just doing it for the love of the game in business (so to speak).

*Facepalm* Why are YOU making this video? You are not even really effected by the damn thing. Wannabe angry Joe.

Arbiter 739により編集済み: 12/14/2013 9:56:05 AMI didn't watch the video and I don't really care to watch the video. However this whole dumbass thing YouTube is doing is pretty serious. They've been flagging videos based solely on the existence of gameplay footage, gameplay music, or trailers in the video. In all cases where it's a legitimate review, this violates fair use laws in the US. All this tagging has been done through automation and sends the AD revenue from those videos to the companies that claim ownership instead. This is not only bullshit and anti-user, but a big enough event to show YouTube users that whoever is in charge does not care about the site being user-friendly. This is big enough that it would let an "alternate youtube" pop up and survive, so long as it was better than youtube-esque sites like Vine or whatever.

Vicexにより編集済み: 12/13/2013 5:39:38 AMIt seems people think YouTube does nothing but support videos of video games... People either: A) fail to understand that Google can do whatever it wants as viewers do not own YouTube B) Fail to acknowledge that many people violate "fair use" (as they assume "fair use" to be something that it is not) c) Are too lazy to get permission from the publisher to use in-game footage There is an easy way to solve this, and that's getting permission to use material that many people should have been getting from the start.

Why are people so surprised? Google operates in an oligopolistic market, if not verging on monopolistic. It stands to reason they can pull this shit off and get away with it.

Gregory Marshallにより編集済み: 12/13/2013 8:21:50 PMIf people don't like what these companies are doing, then stop using their services. I got rid of Facebook and my entire Google Account because I didn't respect either company's philosophy. It's not that hard, these are unnecessary services, and you can live without them. Complaining about their business model, and then using the very thing you complain about to broadcast your sentiments over it isn't going to change anything, in fact it's retroactive. You are their product, as long as you continue to use them, they won't change a damned thing.

I know, it's terrible and it will destroy You Tube, meaning everyone will become unemployed and die. But I guess if that happens they'll reverse the policies and stop it from imploding along with all of the creative talent... I hope :/
