If a mirror reflects every color perfectly how can we tell its silver?

Silver perceived as the color because artists, rather than take the time to make a realistic mirror, like to paint a light gray blob with some white ripples on it. Or because some mirrors are polished metal.

If something reflected light perfectly then in theory it would become invisible...
