The problem with "Liberal" activists.

I was listening to a little Rage Against the Machine and reminiscing back to my college days. I remembered that so many of the uber-"Liberal" students always liked to ramble on about how the USA was evil because we had so much, and the developing world had so little. So, in my thoughts this came to me: why is it that those kids thought that everyone should be poor? They thought the USA was evil, but never thought that maybe instead of trying to bring the USA down a notch, maybe we should be bringing the world up one. Yes, there is a problem with wealth inequity. The divide is vast. But, maybe we should focus on making ourselves rich instead of making everyone poor. It can be done. I see it isn't easy. but things worth doing rarely are. Anyways...I'm going back to enjoying my Guinness...already in progress...

I never understood why wanting to keep your money is considered greedy, but taking money you didn't earn from other people isn't.

Video completely relevant, by the way. I'm currently in college, and the "liberals" that I see aren't aiming to make everyone poor. I see them being politically active more towards LGBT rights and adding more money towards Education rather than defense. However, for the "conservatives" in my college, they're doing the opposite: Preaching religious teachings in the open forum, condemning people who are gay, and saying that we need more defense in case we have our "tyrannical" government takes over. I've been to both, and there's a very good reason why one side seems much more favorable than the other side. While I have conservative roots due to religion and family, I agree more with the "liberals" in my college since I haven't been berated by them at all. As for the "conservatives", I end up walking by, and they ask me if I'm straight. I'm asexual. Apparently, if you're asexual, you're also paired up with LGBT people and I'm going to be sent to Hell and I'll be smited, or something like that. This was after he shoved a bible into my hands. I guess you can say it depends on the age group. I see more of the "younger liberals" fighting for civil equality and education reform, while the "older liberals" are fighting for wealth equality.

I don't necessarily agree with that mindset, and I'll still say you're unfairly characterizing them. Most of them (the ones that actually do their homework) take issue with the US' wealth relative to the third world due to actions US-controlled organizations have taken to actively keep the third world down. For instance, loans being made by the IMF to dictators, which rob countries of their natural resources (for the benefit of the US), and then stick the poor people with the bill.
