Is there anyone out there who would like to see crafting implemented in to Destiny?
If so what type of crafting would you like. Gunsmith? ArmorSmith? or maybe something else?
Also how would you go about getting the materials?
Please share your thoughts!

Doesn't seem likely, simply because it would be hard to keep people from making op weapons armor. Pkus if you look at the skill tree for the Thunderlord in the demo, each new skill requires several different types of things, this will probably be as close to crafting as the game gets. Crafting = Maybe in a public area they will have a market stand where we can make macaroni pictures!

We already have a version of it with the ability to upgrade weapons and other gear. Hopefully it will be properly restricted so that people can't create OP or unbalanced stuff given the game's focus is co-op and PVP.

Really good idea you could collect weapons and destroy them to use the parts to upgrade other weapons also it's a nice way to get armour and you could make a business of it and sell stuff on to buy stuff you want and also make even better stuff

So you got to take it to an expert. Gun Smith or Smith ect. Smiths Allowing you a much richer fuller range of options. Crafting items in a Modern Day world takes special tools. Knowledge such as metalworking ect, Not to mention special machinery that would cost a significant investment. People think ME 3 but that was just adding sights barrels ect any one can do that being a soldier in the right facilities in that universe with the right ships tools not to mention the modular tech they had. Destiny is not even akin to that. Out in the field it would be more limited. In a Sci-Fi mythic setting most people will be using the weapons or adding personnel touches. Taking it in to be looked at or such can offer new avenues. You might be able to get mods to do it you're self on the ship you have. But a Gun Smith would offer kits even more options. Crafting like out of Dead Space or Fallout not exactly as Issac Clark has spent years as an engineer thus understood the modular tech he was using it was realistic as his benches could craft the items or mod them. Fallout was kinda unrealistic in some respects. Explosives yes but in some ways weapons with a bench using those kinds of tools would not be possible unless you had use of a Machine Shop or Garage. In games they just let you know all these things but in Destiny it would make more sense as crafting a item or a Master Smith Crafting an item would differ. The special guns would seem less special if you can "Craft it" Thus would be treated like the Magic Weapons you see in games like World of Warcraft. Bungie is not shooting for this i think as they have left out how they mod items, i am unsure what to expect. All the talk has been about personifying the weapons but not how ? Or who is going to do all that ? Some Arms Dealer you go to a Gun Smith ? Even will you be able to craft common items ? Will it be like Fallout New Vegas ? ME-3 as far as the Crafting part we will see in the Beta. Just a few thoughts.

I really hope Destiny does put crafting in to the system as it gives us the fact of hunting for materials and crafting the items could give us many, many more hours of gameplay. Lets face it - More hours gameplay = Happy Guardians!

It's one of the better RPG features. I would like to see it in Destiny for PVE. Being able to adjust percentages on weapons by mixing and matching parts to say even adding effects to its performance who go a long way with WOW and Skyrim players looking for that experience. If anything players skilled in this would be able to drive value markets with their weapons they sell.

So since random generated parts to make new weapons is out of the question, so are crafting weapons. Sauce: from some article that I don't remember the link to and speculation.
