Seriously guys, think about it. BETA link that leads to nowhere on websites, game is now completely playable from beginning to end (with the exceptions of raids and strikes) according to last mail sack, and everything else that was revealed in the latest mail sack. Could Bungie be playing an ultimate trick on us? Think about it, if they revealed that they were actually in Beta, the Destiny community would flip out and the excitement would be bigger than ever. THIS IS PURELY SPECULATION!!!! But seriously think about it. Look into yourself and find the answers and
Become Legend...
I'm sure the engine is 100% done with some tweaks here and there but Bungee still has a LOT of work to do. Beta could be around the corner but this would be a real beta. Not where the game is 99.99% done and beta is released to cause hype.

I know it's hard to believe, given the fidelity of the graphics and how playable the game apparently is already but if they're still altering builds and such frequently, as stated in the podcast, then I'd think it's fair to believe their statement that it's pre-alpha.

They said so in the podcast, and it's still a long ways from release. Being playable from start to finish could mean that there are still entire levels that need to be fleshed out, textures added, gameplay tweaked, etc. It could just be a bunch of empty placeholder boxes with terrain and cutscene triggers.

1 返信A game build is considered pre-alpha if there are planned launch features and content that have yet to be implemented in the current build. Only after the build is "feature complete", meaning that everything that will be in the game at launch is coded and exists within the build, it becomes an alpha build. Also, a video game generally takes anywhere between 12 and 18 months to go from its first playable state (in this case, the E3 demo) and gold certification.

4 通の返信The game is playable from beginning to end with developer kits. That means it's playable, so long as you can insert stuff into the game yourself, and clip through walls and fly around. When websites have a link to a beta, and the link leads to nowhere, that means that there is no beta available. Now, or possibly ever. A beta has never been confirmed. Trust me, if Bungie says the game is pre-Alpha, then it's pre-Alpha. Bungie's confirmation is always more accurate than our own speculation.

I don't think the game is still on a Pre-Alpha phase, based purely on what we have read in the past Mail Sack, they can run the game from start to end (with the exception of certain game modes). That would obviously mean that the game, or at least a part of it, can be played by a certain ammount of players. Of course, they still have to sort out a lot of little things as bugs, the server's capacity, etc. I don't know if they are ready to release a Beta yet, but I certainly think that we are getting closer and closer with every update we get on the new section.

I doubt its still in a PRE-alpha. On the case of them having an open beta, I already did the user-research stuffs. If and when they do announce a public beta I'll be second in line(will be kinda hard to be first in line with all the other nerds fighting for that spot).
