I've only seen Iron Man 3 and Man of Steel so far and the were both ok. I kind of doubt I'll think the Wolverine is much better (if at all) than the other two so I'm gonna go with IM3.
I'm not going to be able to get into alot of detail because it's been a little while since I've seen them.
The main problem I had with Man of Steel was extreme overuse of explosions and prolonged action scenes, things like that. There's a popular Superman writer that called it "destruction-porn", and I thought that was a perfect description for it. I wish they would have done more with the character development instead of just a bunch of action scenes. I thought the movie started off pretty strong but once Zod came to Earth, the characters started to become alot more dull.
Here's a pretty long video that collects a bunch of youtube critics opinions of the movie and I agree with almost all of them. It starts around 5:15.
As for Iron Man 3, while not perfect by any means, I thought it was a decent addition to the MCU. Most of the problems that you listed with the movie didn't really bother me. I of course hated the Mandarin twist. I didn't think the nervous breakdowns he randomly had were necessary. I thought the ending wrapped up way too quickly and I didn't really understand it. Was Tony Stark done being Iron Man at the end? But overall I enjoyed it.
A) The writer goes by the name of Mark Waid. Great writer, but an understandably devout Christopher Reeve fanboy.
B) Of course, the overuse of explosives is a problem in any movie, but I honestly felt they didn't detract too much until the very last fight between Supes and Zod. Indeed, they went a long way to making the threats feel real, and as I've said in my thoughts in this thread, they made for one of my favorite scenes in movie history.
Indeed, I felt the problem wasn't with the explosions, but with the way the film decided to pace itself. The action scenes really needed some more periods of denouement.
C) It's all fine, I respect your opinion.
