PaladinZordonにより編集済み: 8/28/2013 8:58:29 PMTwo things are certain on the internet: 1) Mob mentality is contagious 2) word of mouth credibility is as valuable as gold. Why does Bungie not capitalize on that by giving me a little ammo to help interest my friends into this game? I see more and more threads about expressing that pissed feeling that Bungie is so tight lipped with us, its most attentive fans, yet puts on the ritz for huge circle jerks with the press. While I understand that is modus operandi in the video game industry right now, the winds of change are in the air, and cross-section of current thread shows that displeasure is there. We don't care if it's not ready, we just want to know what is going on. You see other developers using more modern marketing strategies that lift the veil which have been very successful in building support from the fans, meanwhile Bungie sticks to an antiquated marketing model of secrecy in a time where immediacy and connectivity have proven to be king time and again. Take the example of EverQuest Next-- they are not even trying to hide the fact that they are using fans' ideas, in fact they are inviting them into the process! TL;DR: If Bungie wants us to fall in love with Destiny, we're gonna need more than a couple batted eyelashes.

1 返信I would pay it. It would make the game better overall, and they wouldn't have to leave out things they wouldn't want to, which is why Bethesda is doing what it is. In order to make a great game great, sometimes you're just gonna have to push for more, and if that means a subscription fee I'm fine with it. As long as its not outrageous.

A violent, bloody war against Bungie Studios. Bellevue, Washington would become a battlefield. Blood would flood through the streets and the cries of agony would drown out the sound of gunfire. Artillery fire would light up the night.

Bungie had made promises to the fan base. If they do go back on their promise its like betraying their own. Can you honestly see them doing that, risking a huge negative blow back after putting so much effort in Destiny? It would be disastrous for them. Can't see them doing it.

8 通の返信First of all, Bungie's not in charge of whether or not the game will have a subscription fee, so this thread is technically pointless. Secondly, this thread is literally pointless because Eric Hirshberg, CEO of Activision Publishing explicitly said:
"I've heard all the rumors, and let me just rip this bandaid off right here. We have absolutely no plans to charge a subscription fee for Destiny."
Bungie don't need too ... they (and activision) have engineered a way for you to buy; 1) a total new release every second year, plus 2) Comet release every alternate year (basically full game fee less a small discount), plus 3) DLC content for Universe expansion. Honestly, if you expect to buy just the release game - you are crazy. Even the DLC is no longer optional map packs ... its Universe expansion. No more entering MM and still being able to join 85% of games. No Universe expansionmeans no moving on past the first moon. Why go a small base subscription model when you can charge for full price games?

The exact same way i felt when I heard TESO would cost 15 dollars a month to play. Destiny would lose a lot of people I think. After 4 months of playing the game(TESO) you could afford a new one at 15 a month, that's just ridiculous for a game that doesn't look that great at all.
