30 通の返信I think it's highly amusing how Sony is lacerating their own PSN+ the more they try to one-up Microsoft. Observe: Statement was released just mere minutes after Microsoft's, and the only real difference is the lack of PSN+ necessary. Now, Sony is jumping through hoops of flaming shark shit trying to make their online service with it's purchase of the formerly-crap (now untested and unknown) Gaikai service vs. MS's dedicated 300k servers. The irony is that Sony is trying to prove that now that they want you to believe that PSN+ is superior to LIVE, they need people to invest in it. Then in trying to outdo MS, they keep releasing more and more features that do not require you to use PSN+ which is enticing the Sony-clones to be more vocal. This has all of you screaming from rooftop soapboxes about how Sony is the God-system because you don't have to spend extra money, which is extremely counter-productive to Sony trying to build PSN into a better system than LIVE. If you need people to invest their money into the paid side of your service (especially since Sony as a corp. is all but broke...), why do you release services for your new console that gives them more incentive to not buy it? Sony is slowly killing their own online service, and they don't even realise it with how they've blinded themselves in their quest to shit-talk on Microsoft. For a guy who was going to get the Xbox One from the start, this irony is very satisfying.

5 通の返信It does seem like everything that the xbox one brings new to the table, the ps4 already has it or the ps4 has something also new which is better. For example, we just found out a mic will come with the XB1, good for them, but the Sony just announced that you wouldn't have to pay for ps+ to get Netflix and streaming services+ also some free to play games that won't require it.

16 通の返信So your paying $50 for what? Playing online? lol I would prefer that my £40 does more even at the cost of my console being useless without it, after all it's always got a 12 month on it.

14 通の返信This just says to me that I'll be getting the PS4 somewhere down the line for SINGLE PLAYER games. That's the same reason I have a PS3, for Ni No Kuni and The Last of Us. It's cool that Sony is not putting these things behind their subscription, but with a lot of today's games requiring or being a better experience with multi-player, it's pretty foolish from a business perspective. Hardcore gamers have already chosen the system they want, and the majority of us are going to be paying the subscription to play online. What does Sony have to gain by making these things free? The only people who are saying "It's another nail in the Xbox One coffin" are fanboys. The Xbox One has been making extraordinary leaps in terms of a come back, something as little as this, that the hardcore doesn't really care about aside from "Oh, the time period from where I'm not subscribed to the next day where I am, I can use these services." A service, that regardless, many of us aren't going to use. Maybe for a crappy little montage, but wait.. you need to play multi-player for those. For me, the PS4 looks like a console I can get later down the line and not subscribed to.

37 通の返信I hate the way play station is desperately trying to 1+ everything that Xbox does. Play station waits for Xbox to release information and then comes out with their version of what Xbox has. That is why Xbox will always be the be the better console. Because play station are trying to be a better Xbox when Xbox are trying to be their own console. Playstation will always be number 2. Hate me for my opinion but when we find out which console has sold more and made more money, remember me?

1 返信This forum is competing with the Destiny forum for "biggest carpet stain Bungie.next has ever seen".

2 通の返信If you're streaming you're more than likely streaming MP. If you're streaming you more than likely have a subscribed service either way whether it's PS+ or XBL. This is IMO a downright pointless argument. If you aren't getting the service(XBL or PS+) you're missing out on most of what the consoles have to offer regardless. Neither Xbox nor Playstation are going to die off this gen. If any system is going to die it's going to be the Wii U. Please stop acting like nobody is getting the Xbox One. It will do decent at launch and even better the following years with discounted consoles and price drops in general.

Gi Bad Dogにより編集済み: 8/9/2013 1:09:47 PMI am personally trying to see where Sony is going with their PSN. If you think about it, being able to do these things are massive pros. But why are they doing it? I am assuming most games are still going to require the PSN+ to play online. That is where most of these services are going to be used. Party chat is good for multiplayer games, yes you can just talk to friends but I don't see myself buying a PlayStation to just talk to my friends for free when I can go out places with them. I use party chat to talk with friends while playing games with them. Streaming? Most people do not want to watch campaign streams. You can tell by what is popular on twitch. It is the PvP(Player vs Player) that most people enjoy watching. So again kinda pointless but cool. Sony is trying to just throw a veil over you ehad so that you can't see anything. They are saying you are getting all this stuff "free" but is the use of it worth not having PSN+? It is almost like going to a car dealer and them saying, hey I will throw in car mats, seat covers and a gas card. You need the car(PSN+ in this situation) to take full advantage of the other services offered as "free". A side note: Do you need XBL to record on X1? I feel like you don't but never thought of it requiring XBL.

Smart move by Sony; again, their messaging is right on point. However, I'm not sure the winning strategy in the long run is to undervalue their services just to try to 'beat' Microsoft. The other issue here is that 'free' uStream accounts run at 480p with 25(is that right?) frames per second; but Sony have inferred an equal service to Microsoft's 720p, but 'free'. It will be interesting to see if there is a difference in the quality offered to PS and PS+ accounts.

8 通の返信Braydzzにより編集済み: 8/8/2013 9:04:03 PMBut it is only for 20 minutes and they also kept the permanent HDCP settings so you can't use an external capture card especially with it only having an HDMI I don't see any way of getting around it.. With the X1 you can use an external capture card on top of the ability to use the built in services.. Please continue telling me how the PS4 is so much better.

4 通の返信I'll only be getting a PS4 for single player exclusives and F2P titles. If I wanna record my online experiences it'll be on my One.
