I can actually have fun in life without doing any sort of drugs or alcohol. I love life as it is, so even if it is "worth it" to become one of those scary asshole stoners, even if it just made me feel better with no negative effects (come on, we know there are negative effects) I would chose no still. I don't want To raise my standard of a good time so that I can't enjoy life without using a drug. It seems pathetic. So, STRAIGHT EDGE

What negative effects are you aware of? You would still be able to enjoy life without it, I'm not sure where you're getting these absurd beliefs from. It can enhance your experiences because of its therapeutic effects and benefits, but you should use responsibly in moderation.

Depends what drug. Alcohol directly damages your liver and can kill you if your not careful. Smoking obviously has lung and cancer problems. And drugs like pot effect you in a different way. These drugs work by exiting your dopamine glands in your brain (dopamine Is responsible for the feeling of pleasure and general happiness). Pot eventually produces so much excess dopamine that it damages the dopamine receivers, so it's harder for them to absorb the dopamine, so it needs to be in larger amounts for you to feel the same pleasure as you did before. That's what I meant by negative effects. And what I meant by not feeling the same happiness normally, because chemically you don't.
