What do you guys think of this?
Half of the quotes going on it are just anti-Christianity in tone... Then the few pro-atheist ones that are on it can also be applied to any religious folk.

Probably the most stupid monument i've ever seen. Aside from the fact that it's really a rather ugly sculpture and is being done for childish reasons, the thing is flat out wrong. It's essentially saying Christians are lazy and useless and atheists are the greatest things ever. But hey, this is America, where you are free to complain about other people doing the same thing you're doing.

Read about that the other day. I understand not wanting religious monuments at our courthouses, so I'm all for them them fighting government endorsement of religion, but to respond by doing the very thing you are trying to stop is just petty and counter-productive.

2 通の返信Thats cute, considering half the stuff on that list is never done by an Atheist. Atheist just use that as an argument while at the same time they don't give for anything on that list.

To those asking what they're building the monument to, it's obviously a "monument to all their sins"... What!? It's Bungie's forum and someone had to say it... >_> OT: I find the reasoning for building it pretty ridiculous. I dunno, it sounds kinda like their making it just to spite religious folk, seems rather petty :/

This is pretty clearly meant to challenge the acceptance of non-Christian beliefs within the government (ie. separation of church and state).
"We'd rather there be no monuments at all, but if they are allowed to have the Ten Commandments, we will have our own,"
It's more of a political issue if anything.

It's not a monument to show worship, like the religious ones. The only point behind this statue is to make a political statement. It's got nothing to do with representing their beliefs. It's about equality and advocating a better seperation of church and state, something the US is lacking to a ridiculous extent. The courtroom had a statue of the ten commands in front of it, which could be seen as a sign of religious bias. The people behind the statue don't want it for any other reason than to oppose the religious influence in the US.

1 返信I think the point of the monument is to make people realise that religious monuments are stupid and meaningless. "See this shit? It's really dumb, but if you guys are going to do it then we may as well just to get some lulz."

I see no one has seen Daz's comment or understands the intention of this monument. 3 通の返信As an atheist, I find it pretty silly to have a monument dedicated to a lack of belief. It just doesn't make any sense. Monuments makes sense for religion and causes; atheism is neither.
