Destiny is made to be multi-platform, not only in player interaction, but in save transferring. Not only will you be able to play the same Destiny game with other players on XBox 360 and XBox One as well as Playstation 3 and 4 (because they use the same XBLIVE and PSN servers), but you'll be able to load a game previously saved from one platform onto another. There is precedence for this kind of cross-platform gaming, people: Dust 514 (even though that was limited). I'm pretty sure it was mentioned somewhere that since the xbox live service will remain constant across both the XB1 and 360, players on the XB1 will be able to play with the 360. I don't have a source at the moment though to provide proof however, and just in case I'm wrong, I'd consider sticking with the 360 until more information comes out on the matter and you can make a more informed decision.

1 返信If you want to stick with your friends, stick with the 360. The possibility of cross-gen play for Xbox looks unlikely.

10 通の返信I doubt it since the Xbox One isn't backwards compatible. Plus, all 360 servers are being shut down May of next year I've heard.

The X1 will have the ability to create living, persistent worlds for multiplayer, so I think it will match perfectly with Destiny. A big reason I will be buying my own X1 will be to get the best out of my Destiny experience as possible.

4 通の返信They may be able to play together the way past consoles have at the end/beginning of their cycle. However, due to the differences that we now know about they may not.

I really wish I could remember how it worked for the Xbox and the 360... It seems unlikely, but I imagine it can be done. The best advice I can give is to wait and see. Worst case, someone else buys the Xbox One, and notices they can't play with people on the 360, and rages on a forum somewhere within a weak of its release. Although Microsoft will have likely answered that question before its release.
