Its literally one of the hardest thing to gauge until you actually get in contact. You dont know if they will do the light handshake or a firm one or a 5 finger half handshake. The reason i say this is I went to an interview at a nordstrom, and the first handshake to the department manager on her part was firm while mine was a little less then firm (i misjudged her) then as i concluded the interview i gave her a firm handshake ,she switched up to try to compensate for the previous hand shake and I (as patrick says ) "FIRMLY GRASPED IT".
So many fails.
So for now on its firm or die

6 通の返信The best thing to do is always go for a firm handshake, no matter what. A limp wet noodle one is always worse.

lol @ your story. Yeah, I used to have that issue. Then I remembered that people judge others on their handshake. This led me to conclude that one should own one's handshake style, not try to tailor it for whomever is on the receiving end. Firm or die. Now the issue is with more casual friends and acquaintances -- are we doing a handshake, a fistbump, a slap-and-clasp? So -blam!-ing confusing, and I always mis-judge and end up with some limp-handed bullshit.
