Why do you think people crave attention...

...in ways which will obviously result in people disliking that person? Wouldn't it be better and easier to pander to public opinion so as to be well-liked and popular at the same time? Popularity and being well-liked always has better perks than infamy and the general animosity of society. I figured this an appropriate question to ask in light of recent.... events? If you can call them that. Thoughts?

  • Some people are just naturally wired to be attention whores. Some people feel the need to be noticed to cover for the attention the lacked at home or in social circles. With the internet being relatively a shield of anonymity it can bring those who normally would never have been disorderly before into a whole new mindset of anything goes, despite the fact not everyone sees other users as face icons. Overall though people I see them as sad individuals screaming for attention. Even negative attention is still attention. Just like spoiled, unruly children do.
