Star Wars: The Clone Wars Discussion Thread
Does anyone else watch this show? I didn't really give it a fair chance when it debuted back in 2008. I recently started watching season 5, and it's a lot darker than I remember. The Mandalorian/Darth Marth story arc had to be my Favorite part of the series. Now I'm hooked on it, the series has taken great strides since season 1 imo. Don't get me wrong the show is still directed at kids, but I feel even teenagers or adults can get enjoyment out of the show. This series has done a great job expanding on the diverse Star Wars universe.

I decided to make this the central discussion thread, rather than just making a new thread every time a new episode comes out. Which reminds me we have a new episode coming out tomorrow. You can watch it at 9:30 eastern time, or just wait for the episode to show up online. Now I have another topic I wish to discuss. Has anyone else been watching the series online? I'm currently on season 3.

I agree with the retcon concerns. I'm not a fan of some of the more ridiculous arcs, like the nightsisters ones and bringing Darth Maul back from the death. One does not simply survive being cut in half, but I guess if it could happen to Grievous it could happen to Maul. Maul ended up being pretty badass though so it wasn't too bad.

Now I can sleep in and watch it!

3 通の返信The show itself is pretty good, however I just can't stand how much canon is being broken by it. The fact that they forced Karen Traviss and the Republic Commando novels out of business irritates me.

3 通の返信I have the movie and seasons 1 - 4 on Bluray. I like it, besides the fact that it is aimed more towards children (which causes it to be quite corny and stupid at some parts. And it is because of it being aimed more at children that I am almost certain that Ahsoka will not end up dying.

2 通の返信I've tried but I can't seem to like it. Cartoons can never be serious in my eyes, and when it comes to star wars that's kinda what I want it to be, so a cartoon is just a big no no.

I've got another theory on the ending of Season 5. Spoilers for episode 18: [spoiler]It's a very well known fact that something has to happen to Ahsoka between now and Episode III to write her canonical absence from the latter films. There's a scene from the Season 5 trailer that shows Ahsoka standing before the chancellor, and another scene of her standing before the jedi council. What if she is forced to be exiled from the jedi order? That could prevent Vader from hunting her down and allow her to flee to some corner of the galaxy. They'd essentially be writing her in by writing her out, so to speak. I hope that's the case. I'd really hate to see for her to die, especially now that she's a legitimate character and not the annoying sidekick she was in Season 1. [/spoiler]

Winyにより編集済み: 2/17/2013 5:10:26 PMI had paid some attention to the show when it first began, but I lost interest for some time. Then, Savage Oppress' story came about and got me a bit more interested. The story furthered, Darth Maul's return was announced, and I was like "Aw shit, boy, I gotta get in on this." As of now, it's pretty good. Well, any episode with Maul is good, if you ask me. And, if there's on thing that this show has taught me, it's that Maul has a heart. Albiet, it's a small one, but he actually cared for someone.

But she doesn't appear to be the one behind the framing judging from this description of the next episode: "On the run in the underworld, Ahsoka makes a bargain with Asajj Ventress while hunting for proof of her innocence." Ventress and her do fight, but it's possible that she just runs into her in the underworld. I think Tarkin is the one who framed her, since he's the one who had the hologram. He never liked her and he's been smirking the whole episode. However, Barris Offee's suspiciously shady behavior (shifty eyes) in 18 and her cameo in 17 have me worried about her too...[/spoiler]

1 返信I've seen a few episodes. It's pretty good, definitely better than i expected, but it's hard to get into it when i rarely see the episodes in order. Todays was pretty cool though. Pretty sure the other young jedi Asoka was talking to is the dark jedi she fights in the commercials.
