Someone please tell me. All I've seen it do so far is piss off long time fans of the website and kill great private groups.

Leverage lessons learned from the file tagging system, develop a next-gen socializing and community gathering site that will properly allow for the anticipated membership/participation spike and allow users to customize/focus/evolve their own personal online experience to best suit their own needs and desires. As beloved and comfortable as the old site/design was, it handled H3 and Halo Reach poorly. Groups were insular, difficult to advertise, recruit or discover, and the forums boiled down to 3 types (game-specific, community, off-topic) where the game-specific forum for the latest release couldn't cope with the traffic and other forums died from not being the new-kid-in-town. The system wasn't broken, but it wasn't capable of adapting or improving. It had reached the pinnacle of its capabilities. The best way to clean house is to kick out the kids (or get them to play outside), move the furniture, and take nothing for granted. PS: the above is just the views of this community member. It does not (to my knowledge) reflect any thoughts, statements or philosophy of the Bungie.Net team.
