This has always been a pet peeve of mine. Game developers use water as a way of marking the borders of their maps, but it is done in such a lazy way. It makes no sense that the player characters of GTA, Halo, and Destiny instantaneously die in 2 feet of water, let alone being submerged. That wouldn't even happen if it was poisonous water or lava. No one would have a heart attack from getting a bit of moisture on the outside of their environmental suits.
Any any sufficiently advanced technology could be considered magic because it is the unknown and incomprehensible... The same can be said for any sufficiently majestic or powerful entity could be revered as a god until it is known and therefore no longer and as guardians we test such things with bullets if it bleeds it dies no longer a god....
But water it is unmoving unflinching unknowable infinitely powerful and consumes all within its reach H2O is an Eldritch Lord of the highest echelon... can confirm

I can let the water thing go, but after basically saving the universe, Banshee still charges me for a gun? "Bro, thanks for protecting our way of life and keeping us safe from forces we probably couldn't comprehend. That'll be $7, no discounts."
