1 返信As expected 🤷🏼♂️ Bungie an Sony have really high expectations for marathon now . D2 had a great run but now it’s time to put Destiny to rest .
-
2 通の返信Don’t worry, Bungie is currently working on nerfing the numbers so the game can be completely dead.
-
3 通の返信After today, there will be 10 people online across all platforms D2 is officially in maintenance mode

7 通の返信I bought renegades a few days ago, absolutely love it, but last night I was loading into lawless frontier matchmaking games by myself, and I couldn't even find a comp pvp placement game ... so depressing that destiny is actually dying now :(

3 通の返信Roachにより編集済み: 2/17/2026 6:54:31 AMI see the BDF are running to remind us that people are "taking breaks" or "playing other things because they have done everything" and that after the update arrives everyone will come magically running back. Yeah, no. Bungie have gone dark and shown their true colours. They are so inept that they cant manage an update alongside launching Marathon. And that update was part of a schedule people paid for. And, once again, they have fallen short. A decade of doing just that would maybe convince people that they are not worth supporting. Well I am not taking a break. I am done with this franchise right now, and unless some serious changes arrive soon that is permanent. And as that isn't going to happen because Bungie are clearly useless I guess Destiny is over for me. And I don't really care. Had my time in it and other things are taking up my time these days. I haven't run a Renegades activity in three weeks. I logged in Tuesday, bought some stuff for Bright Dust and logged out. The Portal, the pointless difficulty and decisions like ruining Onslaught, which was fine as it was, are indicative of the inept and arrogant leadership this game has. If they fell out of their office chairs they would miss the floor. "Go do this by not unequipping this and you'll get an emblem" .. that's all they have. Pathetic. And yet, they could have tied off this franchise in a way that everyone would have been happy. If they had made Destiny 3 along the lines of us using Vex time travelling tech to go and prevent the first collapse we could have experienced the disaster on the moon, the sights of the Exodus ships leaving. And we would have met characters from lore while tying the story up as our saving humanity by ensuring we didn't exist. Imagine meeting Eris's fireteam or Cayde before he lost the bet. We could have explored lore that was already written and It would have been cool. Instead we get Kepler and the pointless Star Wars drivel we have now. Where is the story going to go ??, no doubt it'll be yet another activity which involves dunking orbs or standing on plates. Again. And all because of "Hey, this is the bad guy now. Care about it" People are leaving because the game isn't worth playing. And there is nothing on the Horizon to change that perception. Nothing. Personally, I hope Marathon crashes and takes Bungie with it. I would rather take a dump in my hands and clap than give this studio another penny.

1 返信According to plan, bore the players so that they jump on the Marathon train instead.

It's also kinda funny that Bungie themselves don't have an accurate listing of population activity readily available for public eyes nor do they still do the annual statistics post like they had a long while ago. The fact they can't bother with either really just shows that they have nothing to boast about in regards to player pop count. Nowadays, the only part of d2 community engagement you really see from them is in regards to the sparse charity streams and MotW/Threads. Radio silence everywhere else.

2 通の返信I will come back with the new content. I used to play nonstop but the game is just not as good as it used to be. I will take three months off then come back and see what is going on. The magic is gone with this game and playing it became a chore.

look at the base lines for each year and the spikes (scroll down) * link originally from Creatine * correlate especially the lack of coms here during Renegades... https://popularity.report/ -
16 通の返信1st let me be clear, I don't trust these metrics... Amongst the pools of player data it does access, it's limited and underreported by as much as 30%. This is from the same source you use but have obfuscated per your bias, 'Destiny 2 Player Count - Google Data Using our algorithm based on Google Trends, Destiny 2’s player count for February 15, 2026 is estimated to be 195,122 players, compared to the previous day, this represents a -0.46% decrease. In the last 7 days, Destiny 2’s player count peaked at 204,378 and reached its floor at 191,987'.

Dragokinにより編集済み: 2/17/2026 6:23:54 AMThings are always slowest in the last few months before an update that's normal... it's just the worst it's been in a long time... this is old news... Lots of people are taking breaks or playing other things once you finish everything you want to do in a game you move on that's normal.... It makes no sense to play after you have everything done so I expect numbers to rise after the update again this is normal... Edit deleted an unnecessary quip that wasn't necessary or nice... apologies
