For me, this game is in a bad spot and completely lacking that magic it had in D1, but I still enjoy running legacy raids and dungeons, helping people get their first clear. Being there for that first time Vault of Glass kinda helps me forget how garbage packed this game currently is. Too many times I join finders with the most arrogant hosts. Example today, I join a (patient/lots of time) finder, run it smooth, one guy seems kinda blueberry. I dont care, ill help you with the paths and show you what's where. Final boss, wipe after damage. Hey, it happens, not a big deal. Host gets mad at his 8k damage and kicks him. Wow. Buddy, you threw down 11k, to my 30k, with your streamer meta controverse hold build you spent 20 minutes copying. I'd rather have the learning guy on my fireteam than that kind of bs attitude.
All you snobby guardians out there seem to forget, you were a know nothing blueberry at some point too. A lot of you need to learn to be humble, help people who don't understand, instead of just being that loser elitist. Its not an easy game to pick up and just go. And let's be real, most of you are running YouTube builds anyways.
For the new lights, just ask for the help. There's still a lot of us out here that will gladly help you learn.

6 通の返信I don’t think it’s inherently unique to Destiny, but rather to peoples’ social skills in general, that create these obtuse gaming interactions. Example given from last night: I was going for EQ clears for the dark crystal (which still eludes me lol) and the first team I joined up with seemed to be doing fine. However, after second encounter, one dude clearly doesn’t know where to go; the third blazes on past to the next jump puzzle. I backtrack to where you slide under the tank and am talking to the lost guy. I can hear him chatting with people in the room the whole time; he’s got to hear me too, right? Nope. I start shooting from below to signal to him. After a few minutes, he finally gets it. I help lead him to the final encounter, where our third is just emoting at the door. Needless to say, said lost guy didn’t pay attention to any mechanics, barely contributed to boss damage, and the fireteam disbanded after a couple of wipes. All while I can hear dude talking the whole damn time. I joined up with a new team for a fresh run, couple of dudes who were on comms, and we actually got a flawless clear after a few attempts. I guess what I’m trying to say is -blam!- the meta- people are just too afraid to talk to other human beings, and it says more about society than it does a gaming community. Apologies if I lost the point. Two completely different back to back experiences last night. Help people when they need help, but damn, people gotta communicate.

2 通の返信Years later and I'm still a blueberry lol. I find it exceedingly difficult to find anyone with the patience to teach an aging gamer with neurological issues.

1 返信Being snobby is one thing. But you're not entitled to anyone's time either. It's lfg, people are in there to just complete the activity as fast and painless as possible. Side note. Controverse doesn't show full damage on the activity completion or wipe screen

5 通の返信While destiny has always had players like that it's becoming a lot more common among casual players. Copy youtube DPS build of the week and suddenly they are highly experienced and know better. Constantly get LFGs who tell me they got some great DPS build for Sanctified Mind and I politely tell them they should just use this and that depending on class, I get the "Yeah yeah" talking over me...only for them to pull 6k damage vs my 90k. You should find that blueberry who got kicked and offer them another run. I will gladly join in to give them a better experience.

2 通の返信Tbh outside of high end activities destiny has never, at least to me in my multi year multi thousand hours, been a particularly social game outside of lfg activities, almost no communication in strikes even to just shoot the -blam!-, I think I've seen a conversation happening in the tower maybe a dozen times. Some of my favorite memories are kidnapping a kindergardian off of Io back when I was doing whisper carries, or a random guy in the tower asked for help with master nightfalls back when that was endgame content, but those were outliers to a degree that in retrospect is kind of shocking.

1 返信CrimzonReaperにより編集済み: 1/9/2026 8:22:06 PMI can’t get off, my meta horse is way too high and I’m afraid of heights :) As someone who used to raid non stop during D1 I personally don’t understand all the requirements ppl have to join their team these day, to me it makes no sense. I get ppl want to get it over quick but the more ppl you teach the larger the pool of ppl you have to draw from when you want to raid. We always made a point of trying to get at least two ppl on the fireteam that had no idea what they were doing, we’d teach them and then stick them on our friend list, having a friends list full of ppl you actually taught makes finding a raid group much faster after awhile.

I rarely ever see a truly decent to great player being the snob in pve. It's always a player that is seemingly throwing or not contributing at all. It's like they are sensitive to the fact that they know they suck so they have to project to feel better. And I run into them a lot. I have no issues carrying anybody. Just don't be toxic. Keep your mouth shut unless you have a question or something positive. My most enjoyable runs of the new dungeon were the ones where I was carrying guardians through on their first run. Most of the complainers in pvp end the game with a 0.3 kda 🤣.

1 返信This is all due to the crap way bungo treats new raids and dungeons. They are built as esports not for run anymore.

PandaPapa146により編集済み: 1/9/2026 9:20:08 AMWhen I join a team to do some hard stuff, I always ask if anyone has any suggestions to make my loadout better…and if something else is needed, I’ll happily oblige. In D1, where we raided nonstop, our* buds would happily berate you to change something, if needed. No one ever got the hump…except one time, a serious gamer went too strong on a newb to our crew…as Leader, I sorted it pdq…the seriously rude gamer was banished forever, with immediate effect. Another time, I was leading a team of mostly* kinderguardians on TTK 1…one little mite kept deliberately being a nuisance. On the third strike, he was booted…after fair warning…seconds later, he pm’d me, in 😭…no one had ever booted him before?! A quick chat, then I brought him back…and made him 2 I/C (2nd in command), and he stepped up, we breezed it…principally because he was the best amongst us! 🤣 He was just a bit ‘energetic’…all he needed was a gentle nudge from a firm yet fair hand. Ah well, different days! That is all. Ease Springs! 🖖👻 *autobot corrections

THE GRIND IS REALにより編集済み: 1/8/2026 10:50:31 PMAll could be fixed if bungie didn't balance bosses round cracked loadouts, mad weapon dps rotations ,subclass/loadout swaps ,teams of meta crutching sweats and streamers that are old enough to be grandads that have no concept of playing games for fun anymore because for them its a job

To me I don’t mind how long it takes for a raid to be done I mean most of the enjoyment of Destiny 2 comes with the weird and funny people you meet and I kinda miss when you could genuinely build for fun, this coming from a celestial nighthawk enjoyer I will never take that off since it looks too dam good But I don’t mind if Johnny_(insert number here) doesn’t know what he is doing but still trying to help out, since it’s all in good fun.
