Have you tried unparking your CPU cores? I run the game on an Intel 9700K with an Nvidia RTX 5080 (upgraded recently from RTX 3070) and a 3440x1440 175Hz oled gaming monitor. I'm obviously CPU limited formally but Destiny 2 runs super smooth with high graphics settings, V-Sync + G-sync on in nVidia control panel, V-synd off in-game, max fps in-game set at 172 Hz and Nvidia Reflex set to ON + Boost in-game to minimize latency. The framerate cap is probably not necessary when running G-sync + V-sync together, though. The Reflex Boost setting only added around 5-10W of increased power consumption measured with the Nvidia app. I've made sure all CPU cores are unparked (never parked for power saving reasons) for several years with good results. I still let them downclock when not active, just not park themselves. Framerates are high and latency low and most importantly I have absolutely no stutter anymore.
I've run Windowed Fullscreen (which now identifies as Fullscreen) since Bungie implemented DXGI Flip for Destiny 1/27/2022 and consider this the single biggest QoL improvement in Destiny 2 ever, since it made alt-tabbing to desktop (DIM) instantaneous. I firmly do not believe the switch to Windowed Fullscreen is the underlying cause for stutter issues.
Another possible cause of stutter mentioned on youtube is that the WiFi module of never motherboards can cause repeat Windows system errors that could manifest as stutter.
The most recent Nvidia driver 591.44 fixes the performance issues that came with Windows 11 25H2 update recently. It didn't mention Destiny 2 specifically but I do believe it increased my fps in the Renegades environments by around 10%. Can't say if it reduces stutter since I don't have stutter in the first place.

What windows version are you running? Build info too in curious. Can we see your frame pacing graphs? I start to wonder if the people that say they have no stutter just don’t see microstutter. Some people just don’t see it like others do.

Ive loaded up the game fresh on three different pcs (entirely different components) and all of them have the same problem. I was so desperate I went onto twitch streamers and asked them to turn on steam timeframe graph and sure enough, same issue. Turning vsync on in nvcp makes the issue less noticeable but the actual issue is still there. I made this post roughly 5 months ago and just copied it to this one and forgot to update my GPU spec (rtx 3080 to 5080 now) same issue just higher fps. I’ve dealt with my fair share of IT problems and I can assure you this isn’t a hardware problem at this point. There’s not a “fix” I haven’t tried lol. Every single other game runs just fine. I’ve noticed more and more people are noticing the issue. Thanks for the suggestions though man.

BlueScreenVWにより編集済み: 12/6/2025 10:13:21 PMSo sad D2 isn't running smooth for you! But have you actually tried to stop the CPU cores from going into and out of microsleep while gaming (ie, core parking) because of D2 not stimulating all CPU cores enough? I mean, excluding OS-related reasons (like the aggressive energy management in Windows 11) when the game runs smooth as silk on way older hardware could potentially be a dead end... Edit: pleasy google the phrase "destiny 2 core parking" and AI will give sound advice! If you've already tried unparking all CPU cores and still have recurring microstutter - sorry!

Nope all cores are awake while running Destiny 2. Like I said, tried everything. Game ran really smoothly on my rtx 3080 until edge of fate dropped and ever since then it’s been the same. Tested on a 3060 paired with i9-11900H (Laptop exact same issue), i7-8700k with 3080 (same issue) 9800x3d with 3080 - yep same issue and finally my current setup 9800x3d with a 5080. At this point I’m over it haha.
