I reckon I could have been in the top 10% of Salt Mines, but in the 20-30 times I've played it, not once did the extra boss thing turn up.

I'm in the top 30% of Salt Mines. I can get an A+ easily, but without that boss fella, no chance.

As soon as you jump down the pit that has Acolyte Eyes around. I played again and it didn't spawn for me. Sorry for the bad advice, I was just lucky. I was thinking Bungie made it guaranteed for the last day. I was wrong

Keep trying, Guardian! I got top 10% on Salt Mines this past weekend by loading up on a ton of the negative modifiers and trying to go as fast as I could....and the HVT did not spawn You can also add boons to help and they will not take away from your score. Good luck!
