Throughout the course of the event, it has become clear that Extinction is one of the Modifiers needed to have a hope of breaking into the top 1% of players.
However, I realized just now that there is one specific modifier that makes Extinction unavailable if you switch it on as a Challenge Modifier: Battlefield Promotion. For whatever reason, because Battlefield Promotion allows enemies to be promoted if they defeat a player, it makes the Player Stake Extinction unavailable to choose as a Modifier, and vice versa, even though Promoted enemies naturally spawn in the game.
So, for those aiming for 1% ranking and the Emblem, avoid applying Battlefield Promotion so you can apply Extinction.
Battlefield promotion has a main competent tied to an enemy killing you to be buffed. Extinction kinda makes that part pointless, hence them being incompatible.
But that's not how it works. They randomly promote. They do promote when killing you... But I've played w the modifier a lot in Solos... they just promote randomly. !-blam!-! Literally all I hear.
To repeat myself… A main component of the modifier is that combatants who kill you get promoted. That’s irrelevant if extinction is on, hence the conscious choice to prevent the two from being on the same activity.

That is true, but that is just half of the description. The first part is that Promoted enemies naturally spawn in the activity, whether a player is killed or not. Hypothetically, it could still trigger with a fireteam of three people if you were to run Extinction. I made a post about the interaction because points are essential to reaching higher tiers in Call to Arms, and it turns out Battlefield Promotion will lock you out of Extinction and the Reward Multiplier it applies if you run activities with it. In effect, it locks you out of the 1% tier.
