Hey there, there are two types of restriction in Destiny 2, an actual ban is a full game permaban, which will give the user a 'not so fast' message on login. The second is a matchmaking restriction, it is not possible to enter certain activities, generally PvP, while this is in effect. This latter type lasts for two weeks in the first instance and two months after this.
