This may come as a shock to you...but not everything needs to be readily available to everyone, and not everyone can compete at high skill levels.
This may come as a shock to you...but not everything needs to be readily available to everyone, and not everyone can compete at high skill levels.
Yeah people being unable to even compete in the event because the points scoring takes into account PL for a multiplier is def skill issue.... You'd get the top 10%-1% easy because you're at 550, people at any other PL below 400 can barely compete if not at all entirely because they can't get enough points no matter how well they do, you could slay in pvp yet still get outclassed in points by some rando who did barely nothing the whole match and got an A/A+ for no effort all because of the max PL

Prove it. I said no such thing. Extreme exaggeration and leaping to conclusions on your part. D2 has events and activities for the sweaties and elites. Raid races, contest modes. No way the casuals should be rewarded the same for doing less. Making an event for all remaining players and adding the hurdle of a lower score for lower light levels… EVEN WHEN THEY PERFORMED THE BEST AT AN ACTIVITY is absolutely suicidal when D2 is severely bleeding players as badly as is happening right now.
Brother the only thing stopping you from participating is your skill issue. Bungie can't fix that.
Scores being tied to PL isn't a "skill issue" it's bad game design to have a competition based on points scoring taking into account the users PL to give a multiplier, those at the top stay at the top, those below...

I’m at 550. I’m getting good scores. I’m questioning the wisdom of the leadership of Bungie for introducing a sweaty and excluding event at a time when the game is in a crisis. Getting personal and insulting is a typical tactic of the Bungie Defense League who try to silence and shame anyone who offers criticism even when it’s constructive and presented earnestly. YOU and people like you are actually part of the problem in D2. Whenever Bungie makes bad decisions, even when they are serious enough to put the game and entire studio in a predicament, you STILL try to embarrass or shame anyone who speaks out about the problem. If D2 dies for good and Bungie suffers for it congratulate yourself. You helped.

Why is this happening?により編集済み: 11/15/2025 1:15:35 AM98% of the event is able to be done by literally anyone. If your entire gripe is "I can't compete with people better than me, this isn't fair bongo" then move along. It's a helmet and an emblem. Wah. I'm part of the problem for thinking bungie needs to stop coddling scrubs and giving everyone handouts. Oh no, my life is over.

Wanna know why the system is so "unpopular"? Because everyone wants handouts, and believe that everyone should be on even ground at all times, while they refuse to actually play the game or work on improving anything. There's nothing left to say. You're either somehow genuinely not understanding it, or you're pretending to be dumb and ignoring everything I said.

The system is unpopular. People are leaving. Not enough players in a live service game will kill that game. Ever heard of Concord or Anthem. They had different reasons for failing but ultimately low player counts killed those games. If Bungie continues with unpopular systems, gatekeeping, punishing players who don’t have as much free time to grind up to the highest light levels players will continue to drop out. It’s simple logic.

Indeed. I hope it then doesn’t come as a shock to players like you or Bungie when fewer and fewer players continue to engage with D2. Pulling some -blam- like this literally days before the most recent “make-or-break” expansion is absolutely diabolical work.
