Surely this isn’t intended behavior? The activity is completed at the defeat of the boss or the completion of the last stage, demonstrated by the awarding of the last bit of score for the segment/section.
I had 23 seconds left after the boss was defeated and it took so long for the chest to spawn and the loot to pop I didn’t get the time bonus.
Of course, I can finish the Taken version with over 4 minutes left. So, the endless Dread spawns in the first 3 segments are certainly part of the issue…

Just because something has always been a certain way, doesn’t mean it was intended. It just means that it hasn’t been complained about enough that anything has been done about it. The Objectives have all been completed, so there’s no reason for the timer to continue. The only way this is intended behavior is if Bungie is deliberately trying to screw over its user base by telling them they didn’t make the time limit even though they did. Will it also kick you back to orbit if you don’t open the chest before time elapsed?

I'm going to assume you're new here if you're trying to then on the other hand justify it and say bungie isn't known for screwing over its player base intentionally?? Lol as they have proven that to be the case many, many, many times over in the past and current times.

Ha ha ha! You would be correct. I just started playing in May. The Final Shape and all its episodes was amazing. What’s been released since doesn’t compare, but the gear grind has kept me playing. Sucks to know this is intentional considering the delayed rate at which the chest and the loot in it spawn.
