There is no certain new gear.
There is new and featured gear and old gear.
New gear is stuff from edge of fate
Old gear is stuff released before edge of fate .

The examples you noted aren't new weapons. As I already stated it's not confusing or a mystery which items are classed as new and featured. New stuff is from edge of fate onwards. Old stuff is items available before edge of fate. The logo which shows where the item is from will have a blue background. Those are new and featured items.

Seeing that you wish you worked at Bungie They've announced that they are removing "Cutting Edge" which was a factor to the problem I (and so many others) were having. If you'd like to know go find out for yourself 👍👍👍👍👍

In your OP, you said you couldn't use new weapons but only certain new weapons. That is what I've been responding to.
