that is stealing. Tell me how it isn't ?
They can't steal something they own. You never owned anything in Destiny, & one day you'll lose access to EVERYTHING when they shut down the servers.

Buying a car is different from buying a user license. You agreed to this even. Secondly, comparing data to a physical object is like comparing an NFT to actual money. It is different. But go ahead, say how uou didn't agree to their 100 page TOS before entering the game for the first time. Take it to court, I would watch The only right thing is to add it back IMO

Just playing devil's advocate here: some people DID buy content when they bought the game on disk which is not just add on data that is part of that agreement yet they cannot access whatever that content is.

That's not how that works. The physical disks don't have any content loaded on them. You can put a disk in your console & you'll still have to connect to D1/D2 servers to play, & all the removed content will still be removed.

If Bungie still had a day 1 version of the server side stuff (ie Physics/World host etc) alongside the day 1 patch you would be able to do that update and play vanilla; but they don't as we know from the lawsuit with them saying they don't have a version that is playable within the studio. With that said, the physical disc is still being considered just a license that you are expected to get rid of (ie return) if you don't agree with the ToS/EULA though - other companies have gone a bit further as below. Ubisoft, for example, recently updated their EULA to require destruction of copies you possess
The EULA is effective from the earlier of the date You purchase, download or use the Product, until terminated according to its terms. You and UBISOFT (or its licensors) may terminate this EULA, at any time, for any reason. Termination by UBISOFT will be effective upon (a) notice to You or (b) termination of Your UBISOFT Account (if any) or (c) at the time of UBISOFT’s decision to discontinue offering and/or supporting the Product. This EULA will terminate automatically if You fail to comply with any of the terms and conditions of this EULA. Upon termination for any reason, You must immediately uninstall the Product and destroy all copies of the Product in Your possession.
https://www.ubisoft.com/legal/documents/eula/en-US

Players that bought a disc still have it.

Except, going back to the earlier comparison, is like the car seller coming along after six years and taking the key. Sure, you still have the car, but it is completely useless to you if you cannot use it. I get that this is modern gaming which is why I will not buy anything digital unless it is heavily discounted, but I do also see where the OP is coming from and how they feel cheaters by this.

The car or the keys can be taken at any time because of the agreement to use the car. People feel cheating in these instances due to their own ignorance of what they agreed to.

The car debate would work better if they said the car was under a lease agreement. Destiny could also be considered a "lease" agreement as the timeline to play the seasonal content is limited and has a set end date. Lease agreements are not new and are used in many aspect of business, from leases on buildings, vehicles, rentals, equipment etc. I will say though that the Portal does now have seasonal content available (The coil et al) on it now and the season kiosk is an option to aquire seasonal loot from the past. My guess is that they will be retooling most older seasonal content to fill the portal. Looks like the path they are taking. (This is only about lost seasonal content, and not campaign dlc)

I'm not ignoring the argeement, I'm just saying the OP's feelings are understandable. I have no idea what the T&Cs said at the time OP joined, but I've been playing just under two years so I knew what I was getting into and that's why I've never bought the content at full price. My personal opinion is that a new app/game/launcher should have been released when the game for too big so as to avoid deleting content.

The car analogy the OP made is forgetting about the agreement they made to play. Your disc example doesn't make sense because bungie didn't take players discs. Both disc and digital versions are the same in terms of the terms and conditions to play the game. Of coarse the OP's feeling are understandable, they probably agreed to something they didn't read.
