Enhancement material economy adjustment

While the drop rate of Ascendant Shards feels plentiful on Ultimate difficulty, there is room for improvement. The material economy would be healthier if at least one of the following was implemented: 1: Change Xur’s material purchases to unlimited so we can readily convert strange coins to enhancement cores 2: Add direct conversions to lower denominations of materials to Rahool (the weekly limit for changing prisms to cores is too small). For example, allow us to spend ascendant shards to buy enhancement prisms, and allow us to spend prisms to buy enhancement cores. 3: Increase the drop rate of enhancement cores in higher difficulty content. 4: Add a system that can curate material rewards based on inventory limits (instead of dropping an ascendant shard while a player is at the maximum amount, automatically replace any ascendant shard drops to enhancement prisms, or if those are full too, enhancement cores instead (should not be 1:1, instead of an ascendant shard a player would get 10 cores or whatever would be balanced. While higher rarity materials have gotten easier to obtain by being plentiful in higher difficulty portal activities, the drop rate of enhancement cores has not matched the current demand to upgrade higher tier gear. I believe the system could use room for improvement and these suggestions would vastly improve the economy.

  • Enhancement prisms are my choke point atm. Like you said ascendant shards are plentiful as long as you don’t upgrade everything right away. I have plenty of cores because I refuse to buy prisms with them. The 10 to 1 conversion ratio is one of the most egregiously overpriced things you can do in the history of destiny which is saying something. Only the event shop is a worse deal 🤣 Full disclosure that I have been playing D2 since the game was launched so I probably have more enhancement core reserves than the average joe by quite a bit. They don’t seem to be going down very fast though. I am stingy with upgrading things though so that saves a lot.

  • They seriously need to figure out how the hell we can better farm/purchase Enhancement Cores. I don't suffer from Ascendent Shard shortage; only occasionally Prism shortage - which ironically can be fixed quickly via purchasing w/ Cores... But getting a measly *chance* of 1 additional Core while doing events, with major RNG that a piece of Armor/Weapon will give one, has been nonsense since launch of EoF. Started EoF with around 1400 Cores, and now I am rarely above 450 & often between 200-400.

  • The game got 2 solid systems for farming materials during final shape but everyone complained so much idk if anything like it will come back.

  • Bungie plans these material resource economies very carefully now and for the last few years so you are always earning an insufficient amount of 1 or 2 materials so that you have to spend time earning them. They have specifically stated this with regards to changes to earning glimmer. They have done this for a number of years now. Increase.player engagement metrics at the cost of player satisfaction when you find out their trick The current player count is a result of this player dissatisfaction when players realize the tricks to increase playtime. This is one of a number of issues resulting.in the all time low player count. Bungie used to focus on making a fun game fun to play until.they do that again these problems will.persist.
