No, you just need someone else that has done it as you need to open the portal for the boss fight.

Just to check, you weren't trying to checkpoint it from the final boss right? all of your runs were ~5-6 minutes in length. You have to do the dungeon from the start: - Kill the first boss - Do the torches/blights in the jail area - Do the torches/blights at the broken bridge where the Blighted Chimera spawns - Kill the second boss - Do the torches/blights during the jump puzzle just before the final boss area - Enter the portal - Kill the portal area boss You can't skip over any of the steps or use a later checkpoint.
