2 通の返信Stalkholmにより編集済み: 10/19/2025 5:21:22 PMA lot of the hardcore crowd hated crafting, "Why should it just be a matter of getting the pattern and then crafting a god roll? Then everybody will have a god roll!" and I'm just like, why is that a bad thing? Also, it's not like red borders were handed out at log in or anything, we still had to put in the work, we still had to do the runs, we still had to gather the crafting materials, we still had to level the weapons up. It wasn't a zero-work proposition. And I can't help but feel like those "imbalances" in the crafting system are things Bungie could remedy: Make a third of a season's weapons craftable, keep the other two thirds RNG; make the craftables good, but the RNG weapons better; make craftables top out at Tier 3 and RNG weapons top out at Tier 5; there's a way to give everyone something to chase. (To my memory, no one complained about the hybrid system during Echoes; some weapons were craftable, some were RNG, we were all okay with the split.) I liked crafted weapons, I liked feeling like I "owned" my gun. Yes, there are many like it, but this Until Its Return is mine. I liked being able to do dumb stuff, like a triple shield penetrating Ammit, and knowing if it didn't work like I wanted that I didn't have to dismantle it and go back to the grind. I enjoyed the sandbox, the toy box. Truth be told, I still give preference to my crafted weapons today, even though they're not featured and not Tier 5; call me sentimental like that, but crafted weapons were something we could be sentimental about. Edit: Not for nothing, but I did log in every week to chase my red borders, and we saw that reflected in player counts, too, there was a small spike at reset when everyone logged in to do the week's seasonal story and collect red borders. During a time when player counts are down, that weekly spike would be a step in the right direction. Right now, weekly resets don't mean quite as much as they used to.
ggs
Wasn’t a fan of crafting replacing the gun grind. Granted it’s almost easier to get a good tier 5 than 5 red boarders lol. Would be totally fine with crafting coming back, but only for tier 2 guns. That way I still chase tier 5s for what I want and can collect patterns for guns I don’t care about having or that I just want in case they ever are needed for something niche.

I want crafting to return. Grinding for them is a pain in the butt, I will admit, but customizing weapons is the best thing for shooter games, and I would rather customize my weapons for specific activities than to keep grinding for random useless roles other and other again. I've always hated that about Destiny, just playing the game over and over again in the hopes of getting what I want while gettibg tins of useless roles that I don't want. Crafting is way better, that way, I can have what I want, and I don't need to need to waste my time playing the game gambling for nothing.

21 通の返信Crafting system is golden. I never will understand why they basically stopped investing in a system that gives a reason to play

yeahhhh... having the gun i wanted, and being immersed in the world instead of having to be in the portal all the time, was really the thing that kept me and my friends playing and enjoying the game. like we do play but we're sad and dispirited about the game now. we joke about how we don't want to be here. we only play because this is how we play TOGETHER. destiny 2 feels bad right now

2 通の返信Crafting definitely, it was what kept me around being able to work towards an actual goal then just running the rng treadmill HOPING I got the roll I wanted. For the anti crafting crowd, -blam!- em, they don't need to interact with it and can continue doing it the long boring way if they so choose. But I have better things to do with my time then to endlessly chase loot I may never get.

2 通の返信(we'll also need armor crafting since it's impossible to keep different builds for 3 characters, all in the vault. no, expand the vault will not work. also, we need crafting for ergo sum and exotic class items, for the sake of the vault)

2 通の返信It’s too late for that no matter how many things we want Bungie ain’t going to listen at all

I’m fine either way with or without crafting, but Legacy fireteam finder was so superior to the watered down, non-specific finder we have now. I got lucky the other night and had success with the first 4 GM conquests via the new fireteam finder, but I’ve had so many duds. Aside from paid carries and all that, there was nothing wrong with the old system.

Dragokinにより編集済み: 10/19/2025 6:22:11 AMTier upgrades are going to be a thing from what I understand... only thing left to do is have true weapon tuning via banshee and armor through Ada and return vendor upgrade tracks they did that I'm pretty sure things would improve at least to a degree anyway imo.....destiny's in a very dangerous spot as far as lack of players soon there won't be enough people to even keep the match made pools running.... if Renegades doesn't land it might not be salvageable

I liked crafting gave me something to hunt for, plus it’s good for vault space as I can go craft it when I want, when things change and a weapon is more useful I could craft it. As of now my play time has dropped off a cliff seance EoF hope there are more roll backs
