“To Destiny…”
How did we lose our way?
Once, you were more than a game — you were a world that breathed.
I still remember walking into the Tower, the hum of life all around me, guardians passing by, the promise of adventure in every corner.
I would chase my bounties, prepare for the weekend’s Trials of Osiris, gather my fireteam for one more raid.
We laughed, we failed, we triumphed. Those nights felt endless.
But somewhere along the way, something changed.
You started to feel hollow — not alive, but maintained.
Content sold piece by piece, moments replaced by transactions.
Now, when I log in, the Tower feels empty… a shell of what it used to be.
I miss you — not the updates, not the seasons, but you.
The feeling of purpose, of belonging, of wonder.
Destiny isn’t dead because the servers are quiet.
It’s dead because the light that once connected us… faded.
Still, a part of me hopes.
Because no matter what happens, I’ll always remember those nights under the stars,
chasing the impossible, together.

Sadly bungie pandered to the woke mob, not to mention trash like eververse really ruined this franchise. The franchise was at it's peak during taken king and forsaken, every other DLC was utter trash. Maybe with the exception of ROI, that wasn't too bad. Bungie refused to listen to the community year after year, instead, they kept listening to clown streamers like Datto. I remember during forsaken he wanted to jack up the price of enhancement cores for upgrading, purely because the clown plays 24 hours a day. Unlike the rest of us, we cannot dedicate that time, so it made the game inheritly worse. They also abandoned PVP for years, barely any maps or game modes, trash Peer to peer system, and awful sandbox balancing.

Problem is that for somewhere along the way the focus for Bungie became less about making a fun and enjoyable game and more about other things. Money, 'engagement', creating a product that is as wide as an ocean but as deep as a puddle. Became more about stretching out their content as thin as they can muster whilst nickle and diming players at every opportunity. Dungeons no longer being part of the expansion its attached to, armour sets that cost as much as a lot of games on steam these days that only apply to one class and shaders/ornaments only available through eververse. Though its also a matter of their people being spread too thin after they decided to act a ton of their staff and now they are more concerned about their new cash cow Marathon then Destiny and it shows with how little there seems to be to the game these days. Seasons don't even have stories anymore, the portal system while an interesting idea is just done so sloppily that it's just not fun to interact with and anything outside of it has been pretty much made redundant. I do hope they wake up and fix things but part of me thinks thats about as unlikely as Pete Parsons NOT buying another vintage car with his golden parachute money.

1 返信Nice read, thank u! Sony should really be seeing these! No one from Bungie ever replies to good posts, let alone the angry posts. Both have been made many many times. The WRONG people are reading these from Bungie. Someone should send a large bundle of screenshots and send them to Sony, enough of them and it can't be ignored. Everything you said is how most people feel that play Destiny. Especially us that have been here since the beginning. Well done!

O Developer mine. Won’t you come, sit a spell. Tell us, your dear community, what you desire. We’ll take those wishes and make them reality, but first a bargain you must sign. Bring us back our beloved content, and give us our stories and adventures back. Show us you care for us, we will flood you with wealth. Silver for seasons, expansions, and cosmetics. O Developer mine you must remember this? You must however remember that we have long memories. Our Silver was wasted on things beyond this universe, and you have bitten off more than you can chew. So come sit a spell. Wish for teeth to chew and throat to swallow. Won’t you give us our due, O Developer mine.

The end of TS Elliots poem, The Hollow Men, sums up the situation perfectly for me. This is the way the world ends This is the way the world ends This is the way the world ends Not with a bang but a whimper.

When Bungie’s coin first bought the stars to sing, A golden arc arose from Combat Evolved; We raced through rings where youth and valor cling, And dreamt in Reach where noble oaths resolved. O'er ODST nights, the city rain gave breath, And lantern’d friends kept vigil in the dark; Those halcyon days outshone the cry of death, Each firefight a tale - each map a spark. Now avarice has cast a pallid shroud, Greed carves the edges of a world once bright; Destiny, once myth, now bows to market loud, Its moments hollowed, polished for the bite. Yet memory laments what time unmade; A halo lost to trade, not war nor blade.
