Seems like Bungie and Sony finally show their true colors
So, after more than WEEK of silence, here (and only here) on the Bungie forums, a response to the Tapir error has emerged for countries like Russia, Belarus, Iran, and some other players from various countries.
They write, verbatim: "Destiny services are not available where access is restricted by law."
However, there's no reference to the law that prohibits players from accessing a game they paid for.
It seems to me that Bungie and Sony haven't been fined for violating consumer rights in a long time.
So, Steam, an American company, operates in Russia, and thousands of games are sold in Russia, including American ones, and everything is fine.
But the poor indie studio blocked access to the game for thousands of players WITHOUT prior notice, without objective justification? Furthermore, direct confirmation that their actions are illegal is the fact that Steam refunds DLC purchases without any formal investigation—this is true. This leads to the conclusion that this decision is either purely politicized, which is still illegal, or that the leadership is comprised of individuals who harbor personal (i.e., racial) hatred toward people from the blocked countries.
In other words, they're no longer even hiding.
