Almost every activity would progress light level.
Guardian ranks were realistic to get without grinding for 100 hours first.
Grinding this much for armor sucks.
This game feels like a mobile game now, where you just repeat the same over and over until you run out.

Try leveling over 500. Not fun at all, but a little better since guaranteed a +1 since their leveling changes. I agree, it is not fun, just repetitive. As the new head said earlier in Destiny 2 development, Don't Overdeliver.

2 通の返信The things I miss from before the Portal (because that’s what this is really about)… - seasonal story/activities People underestimated the importance of how that content made the game FEEL alive - ritual vendor reward tracks I still don’t understand why these went away as a source for materials. Copy pasta what Zavala has to everybody else - power being meaningful All power does now is unlock more ways to make the game FEEL awful to play. I just passed 450 on my main… for me to start maxing out my build with tier 5 gear I have to turn on so many negative modifiers and power delta, I FEEL less powerful than I did 5 -10 levels ago. Before EoF I knew I would FEEL more powerful as I gain levels during a season. Now it feels the opposite. - the game feeling big The Portal makes the game FEEL small… period. I miss the familiar cadence of GMs releasing and figuring out how to beat the new ones from previous seasonal content, farming for weapons on dungeon/raid rotations, etc. Things that make me NOT miss pre-Edge of Fate… - Armor is valuable beyond cosmetics. Set bonuses could actually stand to be buffed. - Stats are are tangibly valuable. - Tiered gear as rng protection for desired perks.

1 返信My time playing has plummeted since edge of fate, this was the first time I never got the large dust of bright dust, even the seasonal challenges are cringe lol
-
5 通の返信I still personality think Destiny 2 was perfect before Beyond Light, but yes. Everything before Edge of Fate was better for Destiny 2.

1 返信I was pretty happy the way it was, the only thing I can say is if players wanted harder content there should have just been options for it, you don’t have to do it but you can if you want. But as for the mess bungie has made its just not fun and portal has just made it like an arcade game to me and shouldn’t be shoved in your face all the time.

100% true story. I enjoyed pre-EoF enough to chase triumphs (with varying degrees of success), was working on two other characters, entered PvP for the first time since NfS: Most Wanted (2015) and just ran around worlds doing whatever. Now? Well, now I check whatever the weekly event is and if I'm not getting it I don't play again until the next week when I do the same. Being that there is nothing that makes me want to grind like I used to. Then again, they did very nearly almost kill my addiction to the game so I shouldn't complain too loudly.

1 返信Portal should’ve just been a quick menu to show you what’s happening in the game. Solo Ops and Pinnacle Ops should have just been nodes in the Vanguard tab. Bonus engrams should’ve just been an extra drop for featured activities in the portal (a mini weekly challenge or daily challenge). Armor 3.0, gear tiers, and difficulty settings are 100% fine, but are made infinitely worse by the changes to power level. - High tier armor is insanely valuable but is dramatically impacted by how you acquire it. - Gear tiers being tied solely to power level mean that you aren’t rewarded for activity difficulty in a meaningful way. - Difficulty settings are great in a vacuum, but with the context of the new leveling system it just becomes a massive puzzle to increase efficiency. How power level interacts with difficulty should be reverted to pre-EoF. - Retool the power grind to 50-100 levels - Difficulty now scales reward tiers and not just your current level. Tiers 4 and 5 being relegated to high difficulty content. - Power level to enter high difficulty content should be lowered dramatically. Just my take, but I’ve seen my playtime dip massively over the past few months.

Yeah it was. Even CoO was better than EoF. I’d rather play Mars escalation protocol than grind on Kepler, better yet I’d run around on mercury having more fun than this crappy destination. Bungie needs a reminder on what fun looks like. They need to go play Rising for a few hours and see they’ve flopped hard that a mobile game is better than there latest destiny venture. How’s a mobile game out shining them that has a smaller budget.

3 通の返信Yes and no - it's still fun to play the old stuff, and I've been enjoying the new stuff too. However, the power grind/tier chase has really funnelled the game into a very specific area, and this isn't quite right in terms of the overall game, and extension of game time being time gating and excessive grinding isn't right either (perhaps even by destiny standards)... but I suspect this is deliberate; the game is progressing from an active live service into a more simplified/autonomous multiplier game. Eventually they'll be a point where everything will only be available in the portal (adapted as we've seen already), and there'll be a rotator to move things around. Just opinion mind you, just what I think is going on.

1 返信This game feels like a job that you don't get paid for. Put in work and nothing to show for it. I haven't touched the game in weeks because of how bad the changes became. I don't have an issue with the Stat update, it's just trying to get higher power level that's the problem, along with the portal being stale.
-
1 返信I don’t really agree with the particular examples you gave but I absolutely think the game was more enjoyable pre eof. For me it was because PvP was in a better state and gms were still a thing. Also the fact that old raids had relevant loot which gave me a reason to try and learn them.
-
Inventory management in game and even with DIM is abyssal now. They don't just need to figure out a permanent solution for the vaults, but with the new armor system, 10 items per body part doesn't cut it. It's such a mess. I feel like Destiny belongs in an episode of Hoarders.

No, this is nothing like a mobile game No, not every activity would progress your level. Now literally every activity will progress your level as many times as you run them.

4 通の返信It was so much better before. Really it was fantastic, what people were complaining about was the content like the nether. Ultimately, the game had reached the end of its run. A extra dungeon would have been nice and then end it. Have a 30th anniversary type event and a fun dungeon with new loot. Then end destiny 2. After take two years off to work on their other projects then announce destiny 3. Then work at least 2 more years and release a complete game.

1 返信It just feels pointless playing this game now. For me anyway. The portal is just a hamster wheel. PvP Iron banner is a lag fest. Comp feels pre determined who wins. I just get to Ascendant and stop playing. Trials would once have me playing 100 games a weekend. Now it has too many problems to mention. Sandbox issues and broken guns. Mass hysteria. And Raids died for me when the LFG changed. Honestly I cannot stress enough how poor the new LFG is for mic lobbies. Dead game.

zmach1により編集済み: 9/23/2025 11:56:01 AMDoesn’t even feel like the same game now. A mere shell of what it once was. I always thought that the only thing that could kill Destiny was Bungie. Seems like that has happened or is in the late stages of happening.
-
Hard agree. There is so much they could have done to improve this game and gives us more things to chase. We could have had more supers, grenades, melees, aspects, fragments, weapon and armor mods, upgrade paths for weapons and armor ... but instead they have cooked up this soulless grind. 😥

3 通の返信I’m with you on everything but guardian ranks, I got to 9 with ease previously I was only at 6 or 7 but that could be because it didn’t matter and now I need it for T5 loot.

3 通の返信It was for one obvious reason: Pre-EOF were cheesy, and EOF are spongy; nobody ask for sponges and everyone ask for cheeses
