One thing I liked about it is that even though it was flawed, it wasn't flawed in the same way MCU movies are which makes it inherently better and far more watchable. as for your question, the answer is simply auramaxxing. Engineer didn't need to do a half backflip with her head regenerating out of her -blam!-, but she did. Mr Terrific didn't need music playing during that fight sequence, but he did. Krypto didn't need a cape, but he has one on anyway. It's all about auramaxxing in the year of our lord 2025.
