Yes, it’s optional. I can opt to pay for the re-roll chips that used to be the extra bounties you could get from vendors for glimmer. Why though? Why monetize something that used to be purchased with glimmer?

If so, bungie has already stated they are looking to bring back a source to replace the repeatable bounties which were replaced by pathfinder and now gone.
