They have a character attached dialogue context plus Tower shenanigans you know the immersive effort that a game deserves... Destiny is supposed to be a universe full of adventure wonder and fun.... not a cheap soulless stack of blocks and checklists and quotas

  • So if they make Failsafe the portal rewards vendor & make you go to the tower to collect your rewards from it, that'd be an improvement to you?

  • At least then it would make some sense I know they're trying to redo the system but they're doing it in the wrong way too many changes too fast that have to run dialogue change the menus to be more fluid I can understand why they did it the way they did it because it minimizes the work they have to do... failsafe running some of the portal would be awesome as far as I'm concerned but all the other characters in this universe would also need their place and that would be more work the fact is is the portal setup is lazy and it takes away from the game if they move things around in a better way after they get some of their flip sorted It probably won't be so bad but for right now the world we've been fighting for the last 10 years is starting to mean less and less

  • Yes... I enjoy games because they're fun immersive a world I can invest my imagination in if I wanted a list of tasks I just go back to work where I'm at least getting paid I don't play games to work I play games to have fun escape The miseries of life immersion changes everything after a while yeah It can get old yeah streamlining it in a way where you can bypass some of that stuff if you don't have the time is important but that needs to still be an option not the only way to play...

  • Giving an option would be a middle ground decision, but I doubt it would matter. The same people that complained about missing the tower being relevant use DIM or this app to move their gear around & get bounties. Nobody complained about Bungie ruining the immersion when they let us access the vault from our menu. Nobody complained about loadouts ruining the immersion of us taking off & putting on different gear ourselves. On the flip side, tons of people complained about quest steps having us go to the tower/helm to talk to NPCs between activity runs. Tons of people complain about having to rerun the campaigns on different characters. & tons of people complained about having to go to the tower to reset their ranks.

  • There's big difference between immersion and quality of life improvements the fact that a outside app is needed to fix simple sort, item management and gear stat and perk info is part of a lack of understanding of the player's wants and needs

  • The problem is they're taking away from immersion for the sake of a quality of life improvement Bungie could do both... One of the biggest gripes the community has is how much they take away from the game rather than add to it having a breathing world can be supplemented with quicker play options but it doesn't need to be exclusive to one or the other... The portal could be easily flavored as a paracausal training ground that was discovered within the traveler instead of a soulless mobile game menu... In all the effort put into the apps could have been directly put into the game for all players to use... It's a lack of focus bungee as a company are focusing on the wrong things development-wise to improve the game and with all the firings anyone who actually understands the game to breathe better life into it is probably gone and without creative direction design is going to be questionable and inconsistent
