I really wanted this to be handled differently, but it seems Bungie gets to decide who “put in the work” when selecting multiple winners for Movie of the Week.
In the linked TWID post, one of my friends and fellow clanmates won MOTW, which was amazing! He put in a ton of effort on the video he created. I was (and still am) genuinely happy for him. At first, I never expected anyone besides the creator to receive an emblem, and I was content just to provide clips for the montage. But then I heard rumors that multiple contributors could be awarded, and I started to hope, especially since I was a key contributor, both in terms of clips and feedback. My friend even pointed out, along with several others, that the montage was largely filled with my throwing knife kills and submitted clips.
Bungie initially replied to Echo (the creator) by email that seven people would get the emblem. At that point, I thought there was no way I’d be excluded. However, Bungie followed up saying they would distribute the seven emblems in alphabetical order from the list of names submitted. In what world does that make sense? My friend was actively communicating with them, sending four separate replies to advocate for and highlight the seven people who actively contributed the most, but Bungie closed the ticket without ever responding. In the end, only three people, including him, were awarded from the list of top contributors, while the others on his list were ignored. The link to the message asking for the emblem to go to the top 7 contributors can be found here: https://imgur.com/lNFjzjU
Here is the Top 7 Contributors list submitted to Bungie:
Asheras – awarded
Alpha_MP – awarded
Echo (creator) – awarded
Mojo – not awarded
MunchinHippy – not awarded
Redacted2008 – not awarded
Stank (myself) – not awarded
The above listed names were the ones who submitted the most clips, yet Bungie disregarded more than half of us without reason when they alphabetically picked the first 7 of 12 names provided, rather than asking for clarification.
At the end of the day, maybe it’s “just an emblem,” but Bungie’s decision was dismissive and unfair to the people who actively supported this project and their community.

Give Stank the recognition he deserves as a major contributor to the MOTW. At a time when the game we all love is in a truly sorry state, it's more important than ever to uplift and celebrate the contributions of our fellow guardians!

i just want to say you absolutely deserved that emblem. reading through everything you contributed, all the throwing knife clips, feedback, and overall support for the project, it’s clear the montage wouldn’t have been the same without you. Bungie should honor the people who made the content possible. its not right of them to overlook this contribution, please know that you earned that recognition!!

From reading this it seems like you (Stank) should have been awarded an emblem. I hope Bungie revisits their decision. -
#Stankbangusgetshisemblem It is already a horrible sight to see Destiny 2 in the state that it's in with the developers telling the community that they are "listening" week in and week out. Is there really so little hope for this game that they just begin to dismiss active participants in their community that are trying to have the most fun that they can with a game franchise that they love and wish was more loved by its own developers. Bungie, it's been ten years. How much more listening and learning can you do before you finally figure out how to treat your community with respect, even just the decency to be clear in communications. It could just be an emblem, but to Celestial, it was a moment to gather and celebrate a montage that lots of people worked on together, and GET THIS MAN HIS EMBLEM.

Lol, dismissive and unfair? So... Business as usual, but it finally effected YOU specifically, so now it bothers you. Quit supporting this company and playing their sh***y money grab disguised as a video game, maybe? If you are back in IB today, then enjoy getting crapped on. That's really all there is to it at this point. They've made it abundantly clear who they are and how they do business. If you're going to support them, you support their behavior. So enjoy it and don't rage post.

Dooodleyにより編集済み: 9/17/2025 3:39:02 PMI don't even know if Bungie has a "side" in this, seems like more of a mixup. But seeing how the topic was posted here I'll add my two cents. I would have never handed out more emblems "after the fact" and I'm actually surprised that Bungie even opened that door by saying they would. It would have been one thing if it was submitted as a collab but from what I get it wasnt. We never had these BS issues back in the day when we were competing for Recon armor so I blame modern entitlement. Rejected!

I want to jump in here as someone who actually did receive the emblem. Honestly, it doesn’t feel right that Stank was left out. He put in just as much work as the rest of us, if not more, by constantly contributing clips, feedback, and ideas that shaped the final video. The montage wouldn’t have been what it was without him. I’m extremely grateful that I was awarded, but it’s frustrating to see Bungie overlook someone who genuinely earned it. This wasn’t about alphabetical order or technicalities, it should’ve been about recognizing the people who made the project what it was. Stank absolutely deserved to be included. In the instructions on submission of MOTW entries, it does not include, nor specify, that only 7 people are to be awarded the emblem upon winning. See here. Had the instructions and expectations been more clear, this mistake would have never happened. The response from Echo seen above, attempting to resolve the miscommunication, was dismissed and ignored the moment Bungie marked the ticket as "Resolved".

1 返信Bungie specifically updated the eligibility guidelines so that contributors had to be tagged in the original post. If the submitter failed to do that, then they are at fault for others not getting an emblem.

3 通の返信they go off of who is credited on the video and this video had like 18 people credited. Bungie has said a while ago they are limiting the number of credited people. So if you wanted 7 to be granted, maybe dont list the phone book as contributing. There are thousands of montages out there and not every person in video gets the emblem, it is meant for those who do the work on the creation.
