If you have been around that long, then you should remember that knives were basically useless in D1. No OHK, no crowd control, could only be spammed if you got head shot kills with them. Knives didn't really start becoming useful even in D2 until Weighted Knife was buffed to be a OHK to the head. But sure, let's nerf the "crutch". Just as soon as titans lose their OHK crutches and Storms Keep, warlocks lose lightning surge, and the player displacement on abilities like Shiver Strike and warlock void melee is nerfed into oblivion. Weighted Knife really only sees use because of the hidden tracking on the second bounce of Athrys. Nerf the OHK from Athrys and there'd be no reason to build up the buff in pvp, nerf the tracking and no one goes for corner shots with it. If there's no tracking, then the buff should be stronger to compensate and vice versa. Lightweight knives are only seeing use because of the new hand cannon archetype combined with Galanor for faster super or Assassin's Cowl for health/ invis. No one uses Fan of Knives even after they reworked the exotic that was practically made for it (Ophidia Spathe). And Proximity Knife is niche at best in pvp, probably everyone using it in pvp is combining it with a Tripmine build instead of Caliban. I'm failing to see how the knives are crutches when they're only enabled by other weapons/ armor. If item A is only strong because of items B and C, you don't nerf A, you nerf the cause of the problem.

Yeah. That's the real issue with the game right now. Not the abysmal grind, lack of meaningful content, no updates to crucible, the gutting of previous content, lack of rewards, constant nerfing of anything that remotely makes the grind bearable, most updates being little more than eververse refreshes, every vendor being worthless, no meaningful new loot, gambit being sidelined, and the overall story being the terrible. No, the issue is throwing knives. Right.

Honestly it’s not that crazy if you actually played with it. The combo with the spread shot HC is a bit too good but otherwise, I guarantee you won’t be winning trials just by spamming your knife.

I think the main problem isn't the knives. I believe it's the exotic hands (something arthritis, haha), but yea, that thing makes the knife bounce 2 or 3 times. I used it after I saw the normal hunter nerf threads on here. And the knife itself isn't deadly or requires a bit more skill. But the second you slap those exotic arms, it's a whole new knife, lol. I just have to throw it within the general player area, and it'll bounce for me 2 to 3 times to chase that player. It's like a homing device.

Why does everyone blame the ability itself and not the EXOTIC that is directly buffing that ability? Throwing knife is just okay on its own. It only becomes a problem with the exotic.

Unfortunately Hunters (like the moon) are made of cheese. They have so many abilities, which do you nerf next? I say leave their abilities and buff Titans 😁 No more losing melee energy when wiffing shoulder charges would be a good start 👊🏻

As a filthy spread shot hand cannon knife abusing hunter myslef, I 100% agree, that garbage is so cheese. Also get rid of these bs jolt shot titan barricades. And, while you're at it, make it so there's no way to one shot someone with an ability that isn't a super.

I miss when hunter knives required a little bit of skill and they weren't everywhere. They never should have been buffed. Honestly, throwing knives should be for pve or require actual skill to hit a headshot for a OHK. They definitely shouldn't be spamable either.
