I am almost certain that they made a mistake, accidentally making the contest delta bring your level down more than intended. There's hard and then there's this. I dont mind difficulty on day 1s but balancing the game around doing a loadout swap every minute and literally needing to use every piece of ammo generation tech - special finisher, aeon's, cenotaph, alethonym, and max weapon stat - to get enough ammo across two exotics and a dps special weapon to do enough raw damage to dump into the bosses with every last bullet you have down to the last second with zero margin of error is dumb.

I am always glad for my mental health when I don't try and participate in Contest Mode, and honestly by the sounds of it, I really did dodge a bullet this time. I don't see why they couldn't have delayed the raid a week. I understand why for Final Shape, as it was literally needed to finish the campaign and we were told that from the get go. This? Everything I have seen and heard about this has been a shambles. Honestly, I'm shocked the servers actually held for non-participants this time around, which is about the only thing that [i]didn't[/i] go wrong. "Congratulations, non-raider, you can log in!" is not the bar to be aiming for though holy heck.
