Give it a try first.
Honestly I felt the same couple month ago, and now with a bit of farming and prep, just using the gear I already had, which is roughly tier 3, I now have a couple build with 2 stats in the 110-150 range where I want them.
Not meta, but I’m eager to try them out, and I doubt they feel useless for most content. The additional 10% dmg is just gonna give you an edge in GM maybe, but when you see how many build can give you massive buff, I doubt it’s gonna be night and day.

I don't give a t0ss about what's coming up with this new content. All I know is that all the armour that has cost me hundreds and hundreds of hours to grind for, especially my exotics, is being changed in such a way that it will become of very little use. All my maxed out builds will be reduced to level 10. Now, I don't mind grinding my power level up to 400 or whatever because the power level grind has always been a funamental part of the game. But this will not be sufficient. Bungie have basically just swapped the stats round as a very cheap way to make us regrind everything and are calling it new content. My top exotic armour pieces will be reduced to tier 3 at best, and because new armour will only be available on Kepler, Bungie are forcing me to buy the dlc purely to replace exotics that I already have, and that they have soft sunset. So please don't patronise genuine veterans of Destiny like myself, by saying things like, " give it a try", or " the bonuses will make us stronger". Because going by pre order numbers, there are a lot of unhappy players out there.

exactly how to you have stats at 110 to 150? me thinks you are imposing some imagined belief into what that gear will transition to. Based on the june 26th blog about tier, T5 gear will be maximum 75 points base with 90 at master worked. Current gear is max at something like 68 or 70 points with master work and mods bringing you to 90 points. New gear is NOT going to have a significantly higher stat total. 90 points is 90 points.

lol, the same way people today have 3 x 100 stats, you sacrifice one to boost the other 2. There’s nothing far fetched. It’s not just about the armor value, it’s also how spiky the stats are. I had a ton of Echoe engrams left and focused them with the new stats rework in mind, and I got lucky with some great distribution.

The stats will change according to the TWID, no more. Mob => Weapons, Res => Health… as long as you build with the change in mind the number will stay the same. New armor will go higher total that’s how we’ll get stats in the 200.
