Firstly Sony made all the decisions on concord, they thought it was so good they started an anime, added it to that gaming TV show & had big merch pushes planned. Sony will do no better than bungie.
Secondly none of what's happened is anything to do with his car collection, he bought that worth his own money, he's not out here using money for crucible maps on new tires, wtf.

You don't get it. It's not the cars themselves people have a problem with. It's that he reportedly was always showing them off to lower-paid employees, even during the times when they knew layoffs were coming. That's not a leader, that's a boss who knows his financial situation is fine regardless of what happens, and constantly makes it apparent to those below him. He also reportedly said he won't hesitate to fire more masses of people. I agree that these airport departure posts are mostly empty threats, but at least have your critical thinking cap on when arguing with people who make them. Tbh, I think Parsons is a scapegoat that even worse people behind the scenes are taking full advantage of, but don't pretend that he's an innocent party who's only flaw is that he makes a lot more money than most employees at Bungie.

A bit of interesting news (if true), a Sony guy was in twitch chat earlier (not the best source I know- but he was a long time sub & trusted by all accs) & he said his boss who's high up the ladder at sie said that parsons was sent home by Sony on Friday, paid leave/gardening leave - didnt have any other info. If true it could mean they've moved him out early rather than let him jump next summer as expected - maybe they see him as a hinderance or they've lost trust, or mayve they wanna speak to staff when he's not around. Sony & bungie lawyers wete in meetings all week so id expect some form of announcements in the coming week or so about the future of marathon/bungie.

The reason I'm hesitant to believe that is because I've seen no indication whatsoever that's the case. After last week it would be splattered everywhere even if it was just a rumor. If I see it pop up throughout the week, I may change my mind.

It was Friday evening & it's holiday weekend so could have just looked like he went home, of course it could be complete BS too. They'd already lost confidence in him by putting Herman hulst above him to authorise all big financial payments so true or not it would seem a good move by Sony to be seen to be acting. No news will break yet so eyes peeled guardian

Like I said, I know he's not the only bad seed there. I'm just tired of people who defend Bungie do so by acting as if things aren't as bad they are. Like with the art thing. People are acting like they can just write a check and it will be forgotten.

I agree that Sony doesn't have a good track record with live service games, so I don't know people keep thinking them taking over fully will be good. I also agree that the whole car collection thing is very much a pointless thing to keep using as an argument or excuse for any post. Unless the cars were bought with company resources, which they weren't, would be the only reason it would be any sort of argument.

What he spends his money on is nothing to do with bungie. Chris Barrett is suing them for his lost shares, worth 200m, that's just silly money & he was only a senior dev, cm's are on 100k a year, the whole place is made of money until the gravy train seems like it ended. People say the same about bobby kotick but the guys one of the works greatest ever business success stories, made a company who don't even make the games, from nothing into 70 billion dollars, since he left Activision are a shambles. Edited to add: He was the boss of gane you've played for 10 years, I wouldnt call they a failure 😂 regardless of how frustrated we get, we still play & interact

Yeah it's just silly the things people believe. He had a decent collection before that but he's the CEO of a huge company in Seattle, a very successful one, so of course he's gonna be loaded. You don't get to where he is without being savage & he learned his trade at Microsoft, from a business standpoint he's a superstar (until the last year or so) - it feels like they've gambled & bungled their way from the end of halo to now (they even admitted halo pvps success was a fluke as it was only added last minute after the 7 voted 4-3 to add it) but don't they say they say it's more important to be lucky than smart 😂 Whatever the future holds I doubt he's any regrets
