I Paid for Destiny 2 and Lost Everything – Asking Bungie for a Fair Solution
Hi all,
I'm a longtime Destiny player who purchased Destiny 2, along with the Red War, Curse of Osiris, and Warmind expansions on PC at launch. This cost me over $100 AUD at the time. I loved this game, and I was excited to support it and be there at the beginning.
Years later, I came back to try the free-to-play version — only to discover that the entire game I paid for no longer exists. Not just inaccessible — it’s been removed, vaulted, and I’m left with no content. No campaigns, no access, no compensation. Just a skeleton of a game that offers little for returning players unless we buy it all over again.
I reached out to Bungie Support with a request:
If I can’t access the content I paid for, then please credit me with equivalent value in current DLC so I can actually play and enjoy Destiny again. I even explained that if I had meaningful content again, I would be excited to invest more into the game — expansions, cosmetics, etc.
Unfortunately, I received a templated response, and then my case was closed without a real investigation.
I’m not here to disrespect Bungie or break any rules.
I’m sharing my experience in good faith, and asking:
Has anyone else had this happen to them?
Is there any path to regain access to paid content or receive credit toward new DLC?
I believe in Destiny. I want to come back. I want to invest again. But I can’t justify buying everything twice when my original purchase has been completely deleted.
Thank you for taking the time to read this. I truly hope Bungie sees this, and we can find a fair way forward — not just for me, but for all early adopters who supported the game from day one.

Hi there,
Thanks for reaching out.
The Red War, Curse of Osiris, Warmind, and Forsaken campaigns and content, along with Seasons 1-23, were placed into the Destiny Content Vault. You can read more about that on this page. While we recognize the potential impact the Vault can have for enjoyers of older content, we unfortunately cannot offer refunds or reimbursements because of this.
But you aren’t “buying it again” since you never bought what is currently available. Plus, when you played, you agreed to allow bungie to change/add/remove content at their sole discretion. If you didn’t want to agree to it, then you couldve denied it at that time & been entitled to a refund.
