“During the Destiny 2: Edge of Fate reveal event, we also announced Destiny 2: Renegades, the second expansion in the Year of Prophecy, slated for release on December 2, 2025. Inspired by the legendary Star Wars universe, Renegades merges Destiny’s distinctive storytelling and gameplay with themes and elements drawn from the iconic sci-fi franchise.” Merging themes and the big one elements means that’s this is a true crossover. It’s not oh there’s a few skins or items that look similar it means the direct lore is now going to be tied and related to Star Wars.
If I want to play Star Wars games I would just go buy the latest releases. I don’t. I want to play Destiny. Now the world that has been built is being tarnished all for the sake of cash. If this is the route it’s going then I will not be following.
Thank you for the memories and the story officially ended with the death of the witness.

They’ve said it will be a unique destiny story. Dredgens are essentially Sith and the story is focused on us hunting a new one. That’s absolutely fine by me. FYI I’m also worried it could go too far but I’ll criticise that IF it happens

4 通の返信Il say it again in the unlikely chance it catches a dev eye: Exotic light saber, blocking bounce projectiles back to targets and of course, the “piou piou” sound effect. I’ll start saving.

8 通の返信Renegades is not a crossover expansion, it’s an homage to Star Wars. Bungie said it themselves. I don’t get why people are whining about it🤦🏽♂️

They very clearly said that it's still going to be a full-on Destiny story with Destiny characters. The only thing Star Wars about the dlc is supposed to be the looks of the gear. No one wants to hear the constant whining and complaining about something you weren't forced to buy. Do you people still not understand the basic concept of if you don't like something then don't buy it?
Thank you for the memories and the story officially ended with the death of the witness.
It clearly didn't, and it clearly hasn't ended for you, or else you wouldn't be here b*tching about a dlc that they only showed a 38-second video for.

"paraversal convergence" as I call it (different universes crossing over into each other), has always been canon in the Destiny universe. It was made especially obvious during the 30th Anniversary update, but it existed before then, as there were several Halo easter eggs scattered throughout the first Destiny, and even before that when there were Destiny teasers in Halo games.
