Now that we've given the RDM benefits to Titans and Warlocks so they weren't left out of the hipfire fantasy, I don't think it'd be bad to give Titans and Hunters a Necrotic Grip equivalent. It's kinda unfair Warlocks are the only class that can make the best out of the Weapons of Sorrow, and use them to their fullest potential.
I mean c'mon, they're not meta defining, nor should the Weapon of Sorrow benefits be locked to a singular class. Plenty of us out there enjoy these weapons same as Warlocks, I think if we can give the other classes the cool Hipfire Cowboy fantasy, we should give Titans and Hunters some neat Hive Magic too.
:Edit:
This post seemed to really upset the 14 Warlocks out there using the Exotic.

7 通の返信I don’t think we should copy the perk of necrotic grips to each class. Instead, I think the concept of each class having an exotic armour piece that has its own unique interaction with the Weapons of Sorrow would be cool, similar to how Warlocks can spread corruption by getting kills with said weapons. Not sure what those effects could be for Hunters and Titans though.

27 通の返信I don't get the hate on this thread. I would actually go further and say that several exotics that are not tied to a super or class ability should be accessible to all 3 classes, such as Necrotic Grips, Sealed ahamkara grasps, and armamentarium. None of these screams class identity. Infact Exotic class items prove that the time has come to move beyond this. Alternatively, I am in favor of getting rid of all exotic armor pieces and instead giving us exotic artifacts that we can slot it that work that same as an exotic armor piece currently. This was we can open up better transmog. As far as what they could do with the exotic armor is to simply make it a part of the transmog and still sell the class specific ornaments. So, for example, Celestial Nighthawk ornaments could only be put on Hunters

1 返信Im not sure if titans or hunters should have exactly the same poison-spreading mechanic but something that meshes with weapons of sorrow and is generally in the same vein as warlocks necrotics would be neat.

4 通の返信Helllllllllllll nawwwwww. I want the moth exotic hunters have but you dont see me asking for it. I want the overshield stuff void titan has but Im not asking for that. We dont need to pass out our unique class stuff to other classes.

13 通の返信15 lol. You have a better PVP Devour kit than Warlocks atm. That’s absurd. You don’t get Necrotics unless we get your absurd insta overshields.

7 通の返信damascusにより編集済み: 5/8/2025 9:58:32 AMThat would be awesome. Now I’m pretty beginner at lore, but this would be appropriate for a few reasons, when considering Weapons of Sorrow are made by guardians with Hive dark magic. Historically, Titans and Hunters have more interactions and control of Hive magic and thus Weapons of Sorrow: 1) Dredgen Yor who forged Thorn out of an old hand cannon (Rose) and Hive dark magic - was a Titan. 2)Shin Malphur went undercover as Zyre Orsa to help us reverse-engineer Thorn into a version we use today - was a Hunter. (I say “a” version because there were many). 3) Necrocasm was built by Enkaar a Hive Acolyte weaponsmith. While not a guardian - thought I’d share the lore. Defeating him helped us recover The Last Word (under the Drifter’s direction- a Hunter) which presumably thwarted the Acolyte from turning it into a Weapon Of Sorrow. Which would have been bad considering its old’s owner Jaren (Hunter and Shin’s father figure) was murdered by Yor. 4) The absolute Queen of the dark Hive Magic as far as guardians go, would be none other than Eris Morn - an Arc Hunter. Also responsible for giving us the Touch of Malice. The only Warlock really involved with weapons of Sorrow was Jana-14 an Exo Warlock. She was the creator of Osteo Striga and Necrotic grips (by studying Thorn).

4 通の返信I don't really agree with the gist of your post, BUT I do agree that the Weapons of Sorrow are mostly unsupported on Titan & Hunter. That said, there's loads of weapons unsupported by ALL the classes. So at the end of the day, it really is a mute point.

10 通の返信Extending hip fire benefits to all classes on exotics that already thematically make sense is completely different than giving the other classes an exotic that is one of the last things warlocks have that wasn't redistributed to other classes in the 3.0 subclasses.

4 通の返信Warlocks are the favorites when it comes to PvE. To expect to have what they have is unfortunately going to be met with ire.

1 返信Ferus Luxにより編集済み: 5/8/2025 4:33:14 PMHipfire is not a power or thematic ability that was taken from Hunters. This is why hipfire grip and mod buffs are universal. Similarly, airborne weapon performance boosts are on each class on different exotics. Each class also has access to melee boosts despite melee being a Titan thing. With that said...Screw it. Let them rock. Give them both a variant but with the right Hunter and Titan design cues. It would be cool to have a full firetean of sorrow bros. Titans should get a Reyzyl Azzir ornament for thiers since he was a Titan and creator of Thorn.
