I sometimes wonder if all the people calling it disfunction think they're clever and/or the first one to come up with that, or if you've all just gaslit eachother into thinking thats what the map is actually called.

I think it's overhated. The big issue is just that its too big for 3v3, I think its a perfectly fine sixes map. There are plenty of worse maps in the game. I'd love to see them take anomaly out of rotation. Or at least out of 6v6, but for some reason the map whose only sin is letting scout rifles play the game is the bogeyman.

But my personal big problem with it, is the spawns are so far back that you spend just as much time getting back to a relevant lane that the match almost always goes to time.

Anomaly is way too small, radiant cliffs can feel really one sided in 3v3 depending on spawns, cauldron is just a really weird janky map, and I think the mars map, meltdown I believe its called, just has too many issues in its center lanes.

I wouldn’t say those maps are worse than disjunction. I do agree radiant cliffs is in favour of the people that spawn outside, they have more map control. Only issues for me with cauldron is the doors opening/closing. Anomaly is perfect for 3s terrible in 6s for the reason you said it’s small. I dont have an opinion on meltdown haven’t played it enough since it was unvaulted.

That's a perfectly fine opinion to have, but in my mind all 4 of those maps have significant issues. It likely comes down to play style. I know the majority of d2 players build for close to mid-range engagements since that's what most maps are really built for, and disjunction definitely favors longer range engagements. I, personally, quite enjoy that. I wouldn't like every single map to be like disjunction, but I like having maps like that. This also means though, that since there are so many maps that can tend towards being claustrophobic, the majority of the playerbase loads in to disjunction matches with loadouts that are really unfavored on that map. Which is where I think a lot of the dislike comes from.

Fair enough, I agree it’s a little over hated. Personally I steer clear of fighting outside at all costs. Scout plinker territory. Had a lot of success with sniper auto on that map. If people play to passive I just swap to my 120HC mid fight.
